"what are you meaning to say?"

yongsun rose her brow, watching her sibling rummage inside their house, searching for something. "i have told you." seokjin whispers, hiding the scrolls in his bag as yongsun frowned. "as far as i can recall, you have promised me that you are no longer entering the government position."

"i can recall that, well." seokjin mumbles, only to hear her ask. "then why have you changed your mind?" yongsun asks him, mouth parting open as she saw him grabbing his royal jade as a proof of his royalty that he had abandoned before.

seokjin never replied.

"seokjin, you know that the late great king, our grandfather had died under the p-"

"i know that very well." seokjin cuts her off, whispering. "under the jung clan."

"yes!" yongsun exclaims, watching him tidy his space out. "so why are you going back to repeat the same history that our clan have suffered into?" she asks him, thoroughly surprised by his decision.

"you are aware that you are going against the great queen, are you clinging into the king's affection?" she grabs his arm, making him face her, as she noticed how seokjin had been suffering from sleepless nights, eyebags visible under his eyes.

"i'm dragging the kim clan back on its feet."

yongsun frowns.

"no! we are already living a peaceful life." she demanded, as seokjin sighs in defeat. "we are living a peaceful life because of the pact." he breathlessly whispered, astonishing yongsun. "... what do you mean?"

"the jung clan is aware of our previous records of their corruption under the late king's reign." seokjin whispers cautiously, whispering softly. "if the remaining kim members in the royal palace gets erased, our whole family will get killed."

silence.

yongsun could only frown at the piece of information, mouth parting open as she whispers back, a little hesitant. "i... why- why is it have to be you..." her lips trembled in fear at the sudden news, grabbing in her brother's arm, looking at him up and down.

"who would help you out.. the... half of the moon clan is against ours, only the king's family is with us- our... our last string." yongsun whispers, biting her lower lip before looking back at him.

"what are you planning, if you will go against them?" she asks him, mind already going nuts from the idea of her brother going alone in the palace.

seokjin can notice the fear in her eyes, enough for him to calm down and drop his bag.

"yongsun..."

he whispers, brushing his fingers on her shoulders, grabbing her attention.

"i promise you, i will be alive." he comforted her, seeing her pouting softly, whispering. "you are very unpredictable." she breaks into a weak laugh, gulping.

"if i don't come back, i can assure that taehyung will do the rest."

"don't say such absurd things, you will come back safely!" yongsun yelled, even if half of her heart knew how risky it will be, eyes watering.

seokjin chuckles softly, wiping her tears away. "how many ladies should cry in front of me before i can even start?"

"huh?"

realizing that he had never told her sister about the second princess, he could only grin and murmur. "did you know that i have a stronger connection in the moon clan besides the king?"

yongsun frowns even more, expression asking him for who it was.

"i'll let you know soon, as long as you trust me."
