Epic 42

I had forgotten what it felt like, the feeling of grabbing a man by his neck and watching as I squeezed the life out of him... to see his spirit leave his body as the tears of terror filled his eyes knowing that his life was over. I couldn't tell you what was going on around me, in my mind a had a singular focus; kill any and everyone who was blocking my path to Alonzo.... it was easy, a little too easy so far I didn't see any of Renee's top generals and that gave me cause for concern. I would've died, if not for that nigga Meraux.... some dude tried sneaking up behind me while I was choking the dude out and I was so distracted that I didn't hear anyone approaching until their body hit the floor. Meraux didn't stop he just moved on to the next room when I noticed a door that was locked up tight, it was just as Icon has described and I wanted nothing more than to kick it down but there was something I needed to do first.... I crept through the door that Meraux had just entered and found him standing at the bottom of the stairs as if he were wai.... faster than I could blink, Meraux pulled out a gun and let off one shot, seconds later a body came tumbling down the stairs.... wearing a Cavaliers jacket.... I ran over to the dude and flipped him over hoping, praying that it wasn't......

"I let that nigga wear my jacket, he was bitching about it being cold in here..." A voice said from the top of the stairs and I looked up at Icon who was walking down with his arms slightly raised. "Now, if that had been me I would've been tight... I promise you would've never gotten another moment of rest, I would've haunted your ass for the rest of your life." He said quietly. "Upstairs is clear.... now the only problem will be getting past the two houses on the corner." Icon said smiling.

"WAIT!?!?!?! WHAT?!?!??!" I asked looking at Icon and I was beyond heated. "YOU NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR BEING OTHER HOUSES?!?!?!?!?" I said ready to beat his ass.

"And I told you, after that shyt with Frenchie... there will be certain situations where I can't disclose everything that I know... some times I gotta let you figure shyt out on your own, ain't that what you taught me?" Icon said looking into my eyes. "Now those other two houses will be a problem.... these were the corner boys, fodder.... Z-List.... those dudes that y'all will face on your way out..... I suspect they'll be on their way now and they're natural born killers." Icon said turning his head to see if he could hear anything.

"I gotta get Alonzo outta here...." I said and Icon shrugged, I was going to kill him... I ran back to the door and kicked it a couple of times before it finally flew off the hinges. It was completely dark in this room but I steeled my nerves and walked down hoping that.... for the second time I could've died, a shot rang out and a bullet lodged itself in the wall right next to my head 'you're sloppy, you've gotten by on sheer luck up to this point but I can tell that luck is running out' Meraux had told me minutes ago and I was starting to think that he may have a point. All that flowed through my head in a fraction of a second, before I jump to the bottom of the stairs as bullets hit the wall where I had just been standing. I heard the gun click letting me know he was out of bullets and looked around for the unknown assailant..... Then I saw him run into a door and bolt it shut behind him.

"I already made the call my boys are on their way.... you ain't getting outta here." The dude said with a shaky voice. "If.... if you come in here I'll kill both of them....." He said sounding like he was close to tears. Another shot rang out this time from behind me, Meraux had blown a hold in the door and stepped into the room.

"Some advice for you kid... don't make threats, just do it." Meraux said before emptying his clip into the dude's head, reloading and emptying the clip again. Meraux turned to his left before shaking his head in disgust. "Really, nigga? You got caught?" He asked Alonzo who was chained up. "Jail made you soft....." Meraux said looking around for the keys, after he couldn't locate them he checked the dude's body.
