I stood across the room, there was about five dudes between me and Epic... a dude I looked up to, a dude that saved my life.... a dude I saw as a brother.... but now it was like I was seeing him for what he truly was.... a monster. Uno continued trying to pull me back just as Alonzo and his cousins tried (unsuccessfully) to get Epic up the stairs to his bedroom. They were failing to keep us separated... I smirked a little as blood continued to trickle down Epic's nose... but that small gesture caused my entire face to hurt... Not gonna lie, Epic's punch still had me a little light headed. How the fuck did it come to this? Epic used to take my advice, heed my counsel, make decisions with a level head.... but this shyt with Renee.... it was like.... he wasn't thinking straight and ever since Preacher was killed he was..... irrational. I should go back to how we got here.... Epic had called a meeting and since Murda was out being a little slut in Vegas and I didn't have shyt else going on, I figured I would go and see what he had to say. I should've know that something big was happening given how packed the lobby was, Epic usually preferred when there was only a few people in the lobby but now there was about twenty dudes sitting around.... I really should've known something was up when I got up to his penthouse and saw Santerìa was sitting out on the balcony with Epic and I could tell by the way he was moving he was pissed about something.... but my fears were confirmed when Alonzo and his cousins arrived... Usually, at least around his inner circle, Epic didn't hide his feelings for Alonzo but.... and this is just my opinion but their brief interaction it seemed like Epic was treating Alonzo more like one of his soldiers and not the dude he was sharing his bed with. We all sat around the table and I noticed Yaseem's seat was empty and I was starting to wonder if...

"Yaseem is on assignment.... he won't be joining us tonight." Epic said reading my face. "I'm not going to waste y'alls time, so let's get straight to it... Frenchie, you and Uno are done.... From this point until the end of this situation with Renee, y'all aren't going to be involved." Epic said firmly.

"Yeah, that's not going to work for me.... you need someone in your corner who is willing to stop you from doing dumb shyt.... You need someone who is going to keep a level head... you need me." I said holding my ground.

"You got a wedding coming up... Uno has a kid on the way.... Chess and Murda, they need y'all far more than I do. This isn't a debate.... Also, Alonzo... you'll be leaving Columbus... You're my biggest weakness and I can't...... My parents are already out of town.... I don't need any distractions or weaknesses." Epic said.

"Damn, I don't get a say in the matter?" Alonzo said chuckling. "It sounds good but I'm not going anywhere... like Frenchie said, you need someone to keep you from listening to dumb ass niggas like him....." Alonzo said pointing at Santerìa. "This got his fingerprints all over it...." Alonzo said and I couldn't help but agree, Santerìa sat there with an amused look on his face.

"Santerìa had nothing to do with my decision to send you away.... me and Meraux talked and....." Epic started but Alonzo quickly cut him off.

"Last time I checked, Meraux was my COUSIN not my damn daddy... I don't have to listen to him. I'm not leaving... so you might as well move on to your next topic." Alonzo said defiantly. Epic looked at Meraux, they seemed to be having a silent conversation and whatever they were silently saying... it seemed as if they had planned for this reaction.

"Why now?" I asked, looking at Epic. "What are you planning that you don't want me and Uno to know about?" I asked and for half a second, Epic looked.... guilty. "God.... please tell me you're not still on this Renee shyt?" I asked in an exasperated tone.

"Why wouldn't I be.... She killed Preacher, SHE STARTED THIS SHYT!!! She came into MY city causing trouble... think of all the people she's killed.... our people..... I'm not going to kill her.... but she's gotta lose everything.... You and Uno, y'all are too close to the situation... Chess is firmly in Renee's corner.... That's your sister and Uno's girl.... I'd never make y'all choose." Epic said.
