"Welcome, participants! My name is Thomas, and I am the leader of the V Clan."
Compared to the other clan leaders, the leader of the V Clan appeared quite young, dressed in a navy blue suit with his golden-yellow hair styled in a brushed-back undercut.
His eyes were a deep shade of green, and his jawline was sharply defined.
"My name is Arthur, and I am the leader of the Lightning Clan. It's an honor to meet all of you who have proven your worth in the early stages of this year's test."
Arthur had a magnificent physique for his age. His gray hair was pulled back into a bun, and he sported a full, white beard.
Arthur wore black armor reinforced with metal plates, guarding his chest, waist, shoulders, and thighs.
Underneath his armor, Arthur was dressed in a blue long-sleeved shirt, a knee-length mantle, pants, and combat boots, while a gray wolf robe hung over his shoulders.
"My name is Pika, and I am the leader of the Water Clan. Please, have a seat."
Pika was the tallest of the clan leaders, with a long stubble beard and short black hair.
He wore a light gray shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, and sandals.
A long coat, featuring the Waena Island map on the back, rested over his shoulders.
As participants stepped inside, they immediately noticed how the structure differed from the Stage 1 method of constructing an indoor meeting room.
The room had a semi-circular design, with seats connected in a continuous row that started at the bottom and ascended upward.
A wide table was placed in front of the seats where the clan leaders' sets were arranged, and behind them was a large black screen.
The participants sat in the front rows with their teams, followed soon after by the clan leaders.
"Let's begin, shall we?"
Thomas double-clicked his band watch, causing the door to the meeting room to close and become soundproof.
The table where the clan leaders were seated lit up, and Thomas typed something on its surface.
After typing, the black screen behind them brightened, revealing a picture of the participants along with information on the screen.
"You are now looking at the finalists of this year's test."
Arthur chuckled softly as he ran his fingers through his white beard.
"Seeing four teams from the Lightning Clan among the finalists puts a smile on my face."
"I feel the same way, especially since three of the teams are from the Water Clan."
Pika turned to face Zeru and May.
"Next, we have an intriguing team from Stage 1, made up of Zeru, the Fire Clan leader's grandson, and May, the younger sister of the Magma Clan leader."
Zeru, stunned by Pika's words, turned toward May in surprise.
Her face was filled with shock, and she was on the brink of tears as she met his gaze.
"Hey... Where is Kai, and why is his picture painted in red?"
"Unfortunately, participant Kai is no longer with us because of the incident that happened on the way to Waena Island."
Overcome with emotion, May collapsed back into her seat, tears welling up in her eyes.
"No... it can't be true. Please, tell me this isn't real."
