Lance's p.o.v:

It took Lance a couple of tries to finally open his eyes, finding it hard to adjust to the lighting. As he sat up he found that his hair was neatly put into two long white braids, leaving him to sit there in silence as he tried to come up with a reasonable explanation. He's definitely in the infirmary at home but... Why? And how long has he been here? He lightly tugged on and twisted his braids, testing whether they were real or not. It must've been a long time if his hair has gotten this long.. Lance slowly turned his body so that his feet were flat on the floor, his legs felt wobbly and he wasn't sure if it was wise to try to stand up just yet. But how else is he supposed to figure out what's happened?

Just as he was about to try to get up from the cot, the door opened and he and Coran almost immediately locked eyes. "Lance? My boy- Are you truly awake? Oh- gods! How are you feeling?" Coran asked frantically, closing the door behind himself before rushing over to Lance's side. "I feel weak, I guess.. Like, in a shaky kind of way." He answered as Coran got everything he'd need to perform a check up. "That's probably because you're hungry. Don't worry, we'll get you fed soon!" Coran replied as he listened to Lance's heart. "What even happened? Did we crash land or something? Is Keith okay!?" He questioned worriedly, hoping nothing had happened to the Galra in question. "Lance, what do you mean?? You got hurt in a training accident.." Coran replied, a wave of realization washing over his facial features after he had said that. "Oh gods- He's going to flip out when he hears about this!" Coran mumbled worriedly. Who is going to flip out? Father??

"A training accident?" He questioned, unable to recall such an event happening to him. "Yes! You were fatally wounded in a training accident!" Coran answered as he started to anxiously pace back and forth in front of Lance's cot. "What happened, exactly?.." He asked awkwardly, feeling on edge due to Coran's behavior. "Tell me... What's the last thing that you remember, Lance?" Coran questioned cautiously, taking a seat beside Lance. He sat there for a moment and really thought about it, originally he had thought maybe he and Keith had crash landed and that's why he was currently in the infirmary but apparently that was not the case. "The last thing I remember was carrying Keith into the back of the ship so that he could sleep properly, then I went right back to piloting. Judging by the length of my hair, that must've been a long time ago." He answered hopelessly. "Piloting to earth? Or from earth?" Coran asked slowly. "To earth." He answered quizzically. "That's... Really bad." Coran muttered to himself, looking as if he may faint. How long ago has it been since then for Coran to have such an intense reaction? "You're missing quite a lot of memories, my boy." Coran stated grimly.

"Do you think there could be a way to jog them back?" He asked hopefully. Coran thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. "Maybe you could.. But It's been about two deca-phoebes(years) since you two left for earth. That's quite a bit of time to be missing.. Though I suppose it could've been worse." Coran explained. They went to earth two years ago? Two years ago!? Lance couldn't believe it, he's missing two years worth of memories and who knows if he can even get them back! So much could've happened in that time.. What if he can't get them back?! What can he do then? He was about to ask Coran but was interrupted by the infirmary door swinging open and Allura stumbled in, clutching at her side. "I'm kind of making a mess here, could you help me out pops?" Allura asked, not quite noticing Lance just yet. "Yes, of course! Come sit, I'll get some bandages!" Coran replied, already up and gathering supplies. "Where's Keith? Is he okay?" Coran questioned as he started cleaning her wounds. Keith is here? "He's in better shape than I am, he said that he wanted to see Marzi first-" Allura started, pausing when her and Lance's eyes finally met. He awkwardly waved at her. "You're awake!? Gods, it's a miracle! I was honestly starting to lose hope that you ever would! It's been so long!" Allura rambled, wincing here and there as Coran did his thing.
