(17) Good Luck

Lance's P.O.V:

  Since there were four of us we split into two pairs for our formation, I called dibs on Keith before Allura or Lotor could object and we went back to back in the middle of the room. Allura and Lotor went back to back a couple feet away from us and Allura shouted "Computer Initiate Team Training Simulation lvl 1." And just like that a bot for each of us appeared and we quickly took them down and went to level 2. Since it is a four person team simulation it is programmed to be harder than having two or just doing it solo. The bots are quicker than they were before. We went through level 1-13 keeping up our formation.

"Move!" Keith shouted as he shoved me out of the way of a bots spear. "Oh quiznak.. that was too close.." I mumbled as I shot the bot with my blaster and dodged out of the way of a bot Allura was fighting. "Little help guys?!" Lotor yelled as he kept three bots at bay with his Altean longsword, at least he didn't have a blaster bot to fight. I shot one of them in the chest several times, as Keith jumped on the other ones back and stabbed it in the head with his dagger, once the bot disintegrated he dropped to the floor and made his way back to me. Lotor took care of the third one on his own as Allura made her way back to her spot in the formation and the next level started. We kept our formation fairly well up until level 15 started. Not quite sure how but the bots sort of separated our pairs and now I was stuck with Lotor and Keith and Allura were hopefully together. Thought I couldn't actually tell if they were or not with all the bots around.

"What the quiznak!? They just keep targeting Keith!" Allura shouted as I heard the loud clanks of metal on metal. "Its fine! I'll keep em distracted so you can get them Allura!" Keith shouted back to her.
Thats bad luck for Keith, Allura has more of a chance to catch her breath than Keith does if the bots keep targeting him. Lotor was shoved into me by a bot, and we both fell to the floor. We had to scramble to get up as quickly as we could before the bots had the time to shoot or stab us. "My bad." Lotor grumbled and slashed two bots. Never thought I'd here him admit to a mistake.

"Nice one Allura! See? We can handle it!" Keith said as he held up his hand, and Allura gave him a quick high five. "Back to formation guys." Lotor grumbled as Keith walked back over to stand beside me and Allura got ready for more bots. "You okay?" I mumbled quiet enough for just Keith to hear. Keith just nodded, and level 16 started.

This round was fine, me and Keith didn't get separated, but Allura and Lotor had to struggle through it after they got separated and left to fight by themselves. At one point I had been grabbed by a bot and had dropped my blaster, I hadn't even shouted for help yet before Keith picked up my blaster and blasted the bots head off. I had been dropped and Keith said "Please be more careful.." Before he gave me back my blaster and the level finished. I've never been more attracted to and embarrassed by someone in all my life.

Allura and Lotor were getting better at sticking together, and keeping the bots from separating them. Keith was still getting the short end of the stick and had gotten targeted more then I was, it truly was just bad luck. The system isn't programmed to attack anyone for any specific reasons, its just how they manifest. The first person they see is whom they attack.

At this point we're at level 28 and Keith looks exhausted. "Keith are you sure you're okay?" I said quickly, as we were in the middle of fighting off bots. Keith didn't respond immediately, but just said "Yeah, Im fine." But Keith's breathing was really labored. Lotor and Allura had actually made their way back to me and Keith and stood in a closer formation to be more efficient, we hadn't done it to begin with cause we run the risk of bumping into or hitting eachother more often.

We were almost done with this level, with about five bots left when I suddenly heard a thud. "Keith?!" Lotor yelled. A blaster bot shot at Keith who was currently unconscious, Lotor quickly blocked it with his sword and yelled "End team training simulation!" "Did he faint?" Allura asked as we all knelt beside Keith. "He did seem pretty exhausted.. he probably fainted due to overexertion." I mumbled as I gently scooped Keith into my arms. Lotor seemed a little bothered by my action but I could care less about what he likes or dislikes me doing.
