(5) Fight.

Keith's p.o.v:

    Another partner switching dance was starting, the new song was picking up in volume and since Lance wasn't leaving he guessed that they were going to continue dancing. Though he didn't want to switch partners.. Lance spun Keith out and gently spun him back to being right against his chest, it was as if they've been dancing together for years. Keith thought he had caught a glimpse of someone watching them from the corner of his eye when Lance dipped him, but when he was brought back up no one of the sort could be seen. Whoever it might've been, they're gone now. Maybe it was just his imagination playing tricks on him. He sighed as Lance twirled him in place, he knew they were nearing the time in the song to switch partners. "Something wrong Keith?" Lance asked as they readjusted their hands. "Huh?.. Oh, I guess I just.. don't want to switch dance partners." Keith replied sheepishly, sort of mumbling that last part.

    Even with the mumbling Lance definitely heard him, he had the goofiest grin on his face. Keith awkwardly averted his gaze as his face began to heat up, unsure of why he felt so flustered by something so trivial. He shouldn't have said anything, gods this is embarrassing. "Simple then, we just won't switch!" Lance stated cheerfully, avoiding eye contact with a content smile on his face. He was a little surprised by his suggestion at first, but he was glad that Lance didn't want to switch dance partners either. "So, why are you so excited and enthusiastic about being at this ball Lance? It's not all that special or different from the other ones, you know." He questioned, bringing it up because he was genuinely curious. "I guess it's because it's my first time going to a ball away from home and all.. I'm finding it really fun- or at least- it has been ever since I found people to talk to." Lance answered, looking embarrassed about his lack of experience away from home. Keith found the fact that this was his first ball away from home absolutely adorable. They continued to spin and dance without fault, when it was time to switch they just kept on twirling along with each other as if the switching part of this song and dance never existed. When the song ended they walked off together, hand in hand to stand by the edge of the dancefloor with all of the other people who were just mingling.

    Keith and Lance had been going on and on about their favorite songs, favorite foods, dances, for a while and they are currently complaining about their past dance partners. They seemed to be really hitting it off and enjoying each other's company, usually he didn't actually like this kind of small talk but with Lance it was alright. "-No, I'm being a hundred percent serious! She stepped on my feet with every damn move that she made! I was surprised that she hadn't broken any of my toes!" Lance explained as Keith tried his best to stifle his laughter. As he calmed down Lance smiled back at him, the guy was smiling even though Keith had just been laughing at his past troubles. Lance is a little odd, but he seems like a good guy. "Okay well, that is quite the nightmare of a dance partner. Oh! This one time I had my dance partner just completely drop me during a dip! I mean- Who even manages to do that?! Not only did it really hurt, but it was extremely embarrassing!" He replied, waiting for Lance to laugh while he stood there reliving the embarrassment he felt that night. The laugher he had expected from the other never came, instead of laughing Lance just had this smug look on his face. What's that look for? "I'd never drop you!~'' Lance suddenly stated with a sly wink, subtly getting closer to him after saying it. Oh. It's not like Keith hasn't been flirted with before, but it was usually betas or omegas that had tried it- alphas assume from the rumors and whatnot that Keith's an alpha and don't try it because of that fact. He felt a little flustered and started to try to rationalize this behavior coming from the other in his head. Does this guy know what he really is? Is he just one of the rare alphas that like other alphas? He's just teasing another 'alpha', right? That's all... It's gotta be! There is no way that this guy found out..
