(48) Belly

Keith's p.o.v:

Dr. Colleen Holt had just finished Keith's checkup around fifteen minutes ago and now they were just waiting for her to come back and listen to what she had to say about their baby's progress so far, holding hands and leaning on one another as they did so. The door creaked open and the two sat upright, looking towards Colleen and the clipboard that she held in hand. "I'm happy to tell you both that your baby seems to be developing just fine, I had expected a complication or two along the way because you're a male omega but there hasn't been so far." She explained, looking over the information on her clipboard. "Now.. I have the ultrasound we took earlier right here, but it's up to you two if you want to know the gender of your baby." She added. Keith looked up at Lance for what he thought they should do but the alpha just shrugged, neither were sure of whether they wanted to know or to be surprised later on.

"I kind of want to know.. Don't you?" Lance questioned, setting one of his hands on top of Keith's round belly. His five months along, pregnant belly. "I wouldn't mind knowing, so I guess our answer would be yes. Mrs. Holt, which is it. Boy? or Girl?" He replied, looking expectantly towards her. She smiled brightly at them both as she came closer to show them the ultrasound. "Well~ You two are expecting a beautiful baby girl!~" Colleen answered. The young couple looked to one another with bright and surprised smiles on their faces, Lance looking as if he might just cry tears of joy right then and there. "Guess you two will be thinking up appropriate princess names for your little one for the next four months." Colleen stated, most literally since the pup is going to be an actual princess. "I already have so many names in mind!" Lance exclaimed excitedly. "I don't have a ton prepared.. But I have already thought of a few for both, just in case." He commented as he held Lance's arm against his chest, knowing he was being clingy but tried to ignore that fact.

Before the young couple left the Holt's doctors office Lance gave both Samuel and Colleen a great big hug, Keith awkwardly stood aside as his alpha did so. He went back to holding hands with Lance as they made their way to Hunk's jeep to drive back home, wondering when he had become so clingy and needy. How long has he been like this? Is it as annoying to Lance as he thinks it is? When they got into the backseat of Hunk's jeep and the car started driving towards home he let go of his mate's hand, deciding to try to stop being clingy for now. "Is something wrong Kitten?.." Lance asked, taking Keith's hand into both of his own. "Oh.. Uh. No, nothing's wrong Hun. I just... I think I've been a little too needy as of lately.." He answered quietly, looking down at their joined hands. So he isn't annoyed by this? Lance was the one to reach out for his hand so he mustn't... Right? Keith was well aware that they were mates and as close as they could be but he still wasn't quite sure how much clinginess was too much for Lance, that and he's never been this close with someone else before. He didn't want to annoy him.

"You haven't been 'too needy', Kitten you could never be 'too needy'- In fact I adore how comfortable you've gotten with being so affectionate with me now. Really, you've come a very long way from where we started." Lance replied, smiling fondly down at him. He smiled back but couldn't take his words as truth, thinking his mate was just being nice about it. "I can read you like an open book, why can't you believe that I love your 'needy' side?" Lance asked, then started nuzzling the top of Keith's head. He sighed with a smile before resting his head against Lance's shoulder. "Fine, I'll just have to take your word for it." Keith mumbled as one of his mate's hands rubbed his baby bump again. "Why do you keep doing that? Is my big belly fascinating to you or something?" He questioned, looking up at the alpha for an answer. Lance does this a lot, but why? Did he find it amusing that his belly has pretty much doubled in size because of him? Jerk. It was going to take a lot of training to get back in shape damn it! "I guess I like doing it because I know that our baby is in there, it is kind of fascinating in a way. I mean- eventually I'll be able to hold our little princess in my arms, but for now I can only do this." Lance answered shamelessly, a big goofy grin on his face as he continued to rub circles onto Keith's baby bump. The Alpha's reasoning was sweet, he couldn't deny that. He still couldn't help but feel a little annoyed though.
