A man and a woman sat in front of Karl in the interrogation room, both in black suits and a tie as they sat across from the man, a set of documents sat on the table along with a pen.
"We can allow you to stay in America, we know what kind of risks you are when you get out of control." The man spoke, he flipped the page of the book to images of Elizabeth in her mutated state. "
These were taken not long ago, your partner is currently still in our facilities resting."
"You sick bastards." Karl spat as he grabbed the book and looked at it, he knew himself what a toll the transformation took and the fact they had clearly forced Elizabeth into it did not sit well with him at all.
"Our research team have taken the liberties to make sure we can counteract both of your mutations should you rebel against our terms." The woman spoke resting her arms on the table, turning the pages of the document, there was a contract-like piece of paper.
"So you want us to sign over our rights?" He asked coldly, he didn't like where this was heading, and he was consulting Elizabeth before he signed anything.
"Not exactly. Trackers are going to be required if you are going to be permitted to live without constant physical surveillance." The man pointed at the page where it stated the conditions they would have to follow if they were going to live in the States, it said things such as where they could choose to live, basically, they could live anywhere where there was a blue umbrella facility nearby and also the location had to be approved by the BSAA.
Karl looked at the name before questioning "Who the hell is the BSAA?"
"The BSAA is an international counter-terrorism organisation sanctioned by the United Nations. It was formed during the 'War on Terror' as a means of more readily combating the rising use of biological weaponry since the collapse of our predecessors the Umbrella Pharmaceuticals."
"So you consider us weapons?"
The woman shook her head and laughed "oh no Mr Heisenberg-"
"Lord" he corrected.
"-We are simply stating that the Mold inside of you is considered a weapon and we want to keep an eye on it and I'm not sure if you're aware but the United Nations is a pretty big deal and we need their approval before we can move on with your release."
Karl didn't have much knowledge about the modern world and had no political interests, but this United Nations thing seemed like it should be respected, and Heisenberg wasn't an unreasonable man.
"I'll take the trackers but I want nothing to do with you people ever again, we aren't property we aren't your experiments, we were people before the mould, and I just want me and Elizabeth to try and live normally." He concluded. "And I'm not signing anything until Elizabeth is with me."
A smile came across the pair's face at the man's compliance. The man put his finger to an earpiece and muttered something Karl couldn't quite hear.
"Thank you for your cooperation, Elizabeth is waiting just through those doors."
Karl's face lit up and his eyes darted to the door, only to see them open and Elizabeth stood there, she was in another hospital gown and the bags under her eyes were dark, but she had the biggest smile on her face when she finally saw Karl after these long excruciating hours without him. "Hi buttercup" he greeted softly as the guard she was with led her into the room next to Karl he stood up quickly and wrapped his arms around her, she held him tightly, not wanting to ever let him go again.
"We're getting out of here okay?" He reassured her and sat back down. The two people gave Elizabeth a quick summary of what they had just explained to Karl and she nodded her head in understanding.
"Where do we sign?"

After signing the documents Elizabeth and Karl had their belongings returned to them. The couple were given a list of states that were available to them and they settled on the countryside in Washington, Elizabeth had always said she wanted their children to grow up surrounded by fields should they ever escape Mirandas' grasp.
The house was stunning, to say the least, well it wasn't a house, rather a small Manor that had been abandoned and thank god it was because it meant they could have a completely fresh start, needless to say, Karl was excited for the house to be his new project.
The contract permitted them to use their powers as long as it wasn't visible to others, which wasn't going to be difficult considering they were quite isolated, the nearest town being a few miles away. The pair kept to their deal, having the trackers installed into their necks, Elizabeth kept messing around with where they injected it at first, the feeling of something being there off-putting to her, but in time, she got used to it.
Over the coming months, the couple started to feel like normal people, they had no use for their powers really, Karl didn't have an army to build and Elizabeth didn't have a village or people to protect, speaking of, the survivors of the village were placed in the same area in Washington near the two Lords, they weren't separated from each other as they all adapted to the modern world. Patrice was a frequent visitor she told them that each of them was interviewed and examined individually for traces of the Cadou and of course Patrice's lack of age was a result of Elizabeth's experiments on her.
"I can age now." She smiled as she told them about how they had placed a replica of the collar around her ankle to stop the mould and allow her to age, Elizabeth was emotional of course as the woman who raised her would eventually pass, but she also felt relieved that the damage she had done to Patrice was reversed and she could be normal.
The Lords never lost contact with Mia and Rose, visiting them as frequently as possible and Elizabeth always made sure to call and ask how Rose was and make sure that she never forgot her aunties voice. Mia told them again and again how thankful she was that they were there to help save Rose, but they never stopped feeling guilty for not being able to save Ethan.
