Chapter 81: the letter

Third Person POV

Morning came and Mizuki felt better. Tsukishima apologized through text but he didn't call her, he just left her alone the whole evening. Kenma called Mizuki though, that made her feel a bit better. But Kenma felt bad when she told him everything that happened, and every thought she had about the whole situation. They ended up playing games late at night to cheer Mizuki up.

If Kenma didn't spend time with her, then she would've had a miserable sleep and a miserable morning.

Meanwhile, Tsukishima felt fine. He thought that Mizuki would be okay in the morning, and that he didn't need to do anything special. But he did wake up early to pick her up from her house so they could walk to school together like they usually do.

After Mizuki's usual morning routine, she was finally ready for school. She closed the main door and looked outside to see Tsukishima.

"Good morning.", Mizuki smiled.

Tsukishima was relieved that she looked fine that morning. Thanks to Kenma.

"Good morning.", Tsukishima greeted back.

They started walking to school together, both were silent. Tsukishima didn't know what to say after yesterday's events. And Mizuki was upset at him so she didn't want to chat at all.

When they got to school, Haruka was waiting by the gate.

"Mizuki, good morning!", she greeted, linking arms with Mizuki.

"Good morning, you're here early.", Mizuki said.

"Yeah, I looked at the time wrong so I came here earlier than usual. Come, let's go inside. You have morning practice, right?", Haruka lied, pulling her away.

Haruka rushed Mizuki away from Tsukishima so they could talk in private. Haruka asked what happened last night and Mizuki told her.

"That fucking asshole!", Haruka exclaimed.

"Don't swear!", Mizuki said.

"How could you stay with the likes of him? And how are you in a normal mood?", Haruka asked.

"It was just an accident. And Kenma cheered me up last night, we played games all night long.", Mizuki answered.

"Go date that dude instead. He makes time for you, unlike the blonde asshole.", Haruka crossed her arms.

"It's okay. I just wanna get through today without breaking down again. I'm embarrassed that you saw that.", Mizuki looked away.

"I've seen you naked! What's there to be embarrassed for??", Haruka exclaimed.

"That's true. Let's just go, I need to change my clothes.", Mizuki brushed the topic off.

Mizuki and Haruka went to the club room to meet the others. When Mizuki went inside, Hinata and Kageyama were holding boxes of strawberry milk and sausage rolls.

Haruka was behind Mizuki and she held a thumbs up to Hinata and Kageyama.

Mizuki made a small smile and pat thejr shoulders.

"You don't have to be on your toes all the time, I'll be okay. I appreciate it though.", she said.

"Why are you giving her a stash of strawberry milk and sausage rolls? You're not on your period, aren't you?", Tsukishima asked.

Mizuki shook her head 'no' and just turned around, avoiding an in depth talk about the topic. Haruka's disappointment was exceedingly heightened due to the way that Tsukishima was acting. So she wanted to poke the bear more.
