(A/N: This chapter is similar to chapter 14 so you can just skip a few paragraphs, there are a few important scenes at the end.)
Third Person POV
A prediction is just a prediction. Any match can go either way, there's no guarantee. Although Mizuki predicted the winner of the match, nothing is certain.
This all comes down to the game.
*whistle*
Daichi served and it was received perfectly by Goshiki. Shirabu tossed to Ushijima, and as expected, it was a high toss.
Here it comes. Mizuki thought, watching silently.
Asahi, Tsukishima and Kageyama jumped for a block, leading Ushijima for a straight. Nishinoya was there and although his form was near perfect, it wasn't enough to answer to the lefty ace.
Mizuki bitterly smiled, seeing that Ushijima hasn't changed at all at his playing style.
Kawanishi served next, Daichi thought it was out and just let the ball go, but it was in.
He served again and Asahi and Tanaka called for it, but no one caught it, expecting the other to get it. They were nervous and it clearly showed, they were making beginner mistakes.
Suddenly, Sugawara shouted at them, angered by their stiffness and lack of confidence.
After a few more plays, Nishinoya and Daichi are still having difficulties receiving Ushijima's spikes, Tsukishima, Asahi and Kageyama can't seem to get the timing right. And on a one on one confrontation, Tsukishima was no match for him.
He was getting more and more frustrated and Mizuki can easily tell.
You got this, just a few more, you'll get your chance. You can stop Ushiwaka, I believe in you, Tsukishima. She thought, hoping for an opportunity.
Even though things between her and Tsukishima are different now, nothing is gonna stop Mizuki from believing that he can stop Ushijima.
When it's time for Ushijima's serve, Mizuki held her breath, knowing it's gonna be intense.
Ushijima served and Nishinoya tried to receive it, but to no avail, the ball drifted to the side as it came in contact with his hands.
He served again and Daichi tried to receive it, but he failed, his hands flailing up from the force. Nishinoya took a deep breath and focused.
"BRING IT ON!", he shouted as Ushijima served.
Nishinoya bent to the side and received the ball perfectly. Mizuki gasped and shouted in happiness.
"YES! IT WENT UP!", she cheered.
Kageyama tossed to Tanaka and he attacked, gaining Karasuno a point. The match went on with a few surprises, Nishinoya got used to Ushijima's spikes, and Tsukishima is slowly getting the timing right.
But this first set is just a warm up to see what Shiratorizawa has to offer.
So it finished, and as predicted, Shiratorizawa got the first set, 25-16.
~
Heading on to the second set, comes in the guess monster, Tendou Satori.
"There's uncle Ten-ten!", Yuuto pointed.
"Yeah, I guess it's his time to shine now.", Mizuki replied.
Indeed, it's his time to shine. Tendou being Tendou, he guesses and predicts all of Karasuno's attacks. He stopped Hinata's attack, even Kageyama's and when Karasuno thought they could adapt to this, Tendou still managed to one touch some of their attacks.
