Third Person POV
Their daily practice was finally done, and everyone was just cleaning up. Tsukishima was getting more nervous and nervous by the passing seconds. He was planning to talk to Mizuki again.
Daichi was waiting for the others to finish cleaning up so he could lock the door. Meanwhile, Kiyoko and Yachi were about to walk home together.
"Mizuki-chan, are you gonna go home after this?", Hinata asked.
"Yeah, I just gotta return my shoes in my locker, I forgot it was in my bag.", Mizuki answered.
"Then me and Kageyama are gonna go ahead. Goodnight!", Hinata replied before running away.
Mizuki nodded and looked around, making sure nothing was left behind. Meanwhile, Tsukishima was gathering courage to speak to Mizuki again.
"Mizuki.", he called. Mizuki looked back at him, thinking he needs water or something. She thinks that the only reason he talks to her is because she's his manager. "Can we talk, privately?", he asked. She looked down and sighed.
"No thanks.", she replied and carried her bag, walking away. The others saw what happened and they were in complete shock.
She was still hurt, so she's trying to avoid Tsukishima as much as possible, scared that he's gonna hurt her more.
Mizuki said goodbye to the others and walked all the way to her shoe locker inside the school.
Tsukishima waited for a while, still feeling nervous. He finally gathered enough courage so he ran and tried to find Mizuki inside the school. The hallways were dark, and Mizuki hated the dark. But she still went inside anyway.
She placed her shoes inside her locker and closed it, about to leave. But she heard someone running so she stopped. She saw Tsukishima panting a bit, running towards her.
She looked at him blankly and prepared herself for what Tsukishima is gonna say. She hated it because she feels like she was about to cry again.
"Mizuki?", he called. Mizuki stopped what she was doing and looked at him. "Can we talk?", he asked again, his heart was pounding.
Mizuki blinked a few times before answering.
"The last time we talked privately, I ended up crying for days. So my answer is no.", she answered, about to walk away.
But Tsukishima grabbed her hand and slammed his other hand on the locker beside Mizuki's head, cornering her. He slouched down so their heads were level.
They were awfully close again, which is something they haven't felt for a long time. Mizuki furrowed her eyebrows, getting teary again.
"What do you want? To hurt me again? Do you hate me that much?", she asked, tears pricking her eyes.
"Yes. I hate you. I hate you for making me feel like this. I hate you for making me feel things that I don't understand. I hate you for changing me into a different person. I hate you for everything you made me do.", Tsukishima answered, getting teary too.
He was getting overwhelmed, he doesn't know what to do anymore. He was planning whole day, but he didn't expect Mizuki's actions today.
"But...", he continued, looking down.
He couldn't resist it, he let out his tears. His heart was heavy, and his feelings were all over the place. He just missed her so much.
Mizuki's eyes widened in shock. She didn't expect Tsukishima to cry in front of her, she doesn't expect this side of him at all.
