Third Person POV
"Bye Mako, Eiji!", Mizuki hugged them one last time before they left.
Ms. Shino picked them up after they had lunch. They had fun today, in the end, Mako got attached to Tsukishima, and Eiji got closer to Mizuki. Eiji didn't like Tsukishima, but Mizuki actually thinks they're similar and can get along. Maybe some other time, they can get to know each other more.
The last thing Mizuki want is for her sibling and boyfriend to fight.
When they left, he took a deep breath. He sat on a bench while holding Mizuki's hand.
"Eiji totally hates me and I don't even know why.", he said.
Mizuki laughed and pat his head.
"He's a bit possessive and protective of people he loves.", she smiled.
"That, we can both agree on.", he said.
"You'll get along, someday, somehow. Don't worry.", she replied, adjusting his scarf.
He didn't reply and just kept looking at her. After a while he sighed and stood up.
If it's for Mizuki, then I'll do it. He thought.
"Come on, let's meet your mom.", he took her hand and started walking.
Mizuki chuckled and interlaced their fingers, walking beside him closely.
They traveled a bit towards the cemetery where her mom lies. It's been a few months since she last visited. After Mizuki moved out from Shiratorizawa and just before she moved to Karasuno, she visited her first. Just to talk for a bit and tell her what Mizuki expects to happen.
They arrived shortly after, Mizuki knew exactly where her mother's grave was so they didn't waste time finding it. They bought some flowers along the way so she put it in front of the gravestone. Once they settled down, Mizuki spoke.
"Hi, mama.", she smiled. "4 months ago, I was crying to you. Saying that, I don't expect more from transferring in Karasuno. But now, I was granted more than I could ever wish for. Thank you always, for being with me along the way. I want to introduce someone though. You'll love him as much as I do for sure.", she leaned her head on Tsukishima's shoulder.
He put his arm around her, Mizuki can see him smiling from her peripheral vision.
"My name is Tsukishima Kei. I'm your daughter's boyfriend.", he said.
Mizuki is glad he's taking this seriously. No one usually talks to a gravestone as if it's a normal person. But she does. Mizuki wants to keep connected to her mother whatever happens. Whether she's happy or sad, Mizuki wants to tell her mother everything even if she already knows.
"It's funny, mama. He and Papa both made a mistake and they're making it up to us. I don't know if Papa visited you before, but I feel like he does. He misses you so much. You know, Kei is really insecure too. From the very beginning, he's been purposely pushing away his feelings for me because he thought I don't deserve him. He and Papa are similar, right? It's quite funny. And since you and I are similar too, me and Kei are like mini versions of you and Papa.", Mizuki chuckled.
"Oba-sama, Oji-san told me not to be like him, but to be better than him. So please don't worry about Mizuki getting hurt.", Tsukishima smiled too.
Mizuki pouted a bit and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"I love you!", she squeaked.
"I love you more.", he said in a quiet voice.
"Mama, I wish you could really meet Kei and spend some time with him. Because I'm sure you'll like him too. He has a sweet tooth like you! He loves strawberry shortcakes! And you liked classic and old movies right? Kei likes dinosaurs, his favorite movie is Jurassic Park! You like that too, right? And he's really smart too, we're almost always tie when we play board games, but one time he won and a punishment is a date with him since I usually postpone it due to unfortunate reasons. Our date was in the amusement park we went to back then! Do you remember when Papa wore a magician hat, you wore a dove headband and I wore a bunny one? It brings back memories! This time, I wore an angel headband and Kei wore a devil horn one. It's cute! Couple headbands!", she ranted.
