The request for this chapter was: Ranboo was with the cricket crew and aimsey was the only one who knew and he had a sensory overload/ shutdown

I have changed the request slightly, as not all in cricket crew was in this misfits gaming video, but I hope everyone still enjoys it! For those who don't know, this is an actual video (a very funny one at that) on the Misfits Gaming channel. As far as I'm aware the title is: This Contest was Cursed so go check it out if you want! (It'll probably help you understand this oneshot better a little as well.)

Ranboo's POV:

Misfits gaming film days were maybe some of my favourite; I mean I got to spend time with my friends doing stupid things and then I didn't even have to worry about editing them or anything! All the fun, barely any work and for the most part they didn't really affect me.

Once in 'filming mode' which is essentially just a combination of my masking self and my stupid, chaotic mode, I tended to be so blindsided by having fun that I didn't get overwhelmed. That wasn't always the case though.

The morning of the Christmas photoshoot video I had woken up feeling fine, better than fine, I had energy for once, I was ready to just get outside and film the video. Breakfast comprised of Starbucks, which Aimee, Guqqie and I all got together before heading to the studio. The best part of being back in the US was definitely just knowing everything when half my friends didn't; that power was something amazing to behold.

Time skip:

Me and the rest of the blue team (comprising of myself, sniff, sneeg, bill and charlie poodwattle) went into Target with most of red team mixed in with us. Considering it was supposed to be a competition, we seemed to be spending a lot of time with the other team. We had a pretty strong idea for a family christmas picture at this point and just began cracking jokes as we were looking for stuff. Like I said, doing this kind of stupid stuff was my favourite thing ever. But my brain was swimming with loads of really cool ideas for our picture and looking at all the different things in the store was imploding my processing system. I put my Airpods in but didn't play any music. They blocked out just enough noise for me to be able to think clearly and carry on filming. That was my main priority, making sure I still got to be a part of the video.

"You alright?" Sneeg asked as we moved to the checkout.

"Yea." I replied, messing about with the baby yoda toy in the cart.

"Sure? We can take a break?"

"Maybe." I said quietly, thanking silently that my friends knew me well enough to understand that I sort of needed to be asked questions more than once.

"Sniff!" Sneeg called out as he stopped pushing the cart and turned round to look for them.

"Yea?" She answered, appearing from the side to look at both of us.

"Ran and I are going to get some air, we'll see you outside?" They nodded, taking the cart and smiling. If she did know why, she didn't mention it and I actually appreciated it; it made me feel a little less singled out when I needed something different to other people.

Once outside, Sneeg and I found a bench to sit on and talked quietly about little things here and there, mostly about videos games to be honest. And I realised that my brain wasn't really calming down. For whatever reason, I was getting more and more overwhelmed and was finding it harder and harder to concentrate on what Sneeg was talking about.

"Hey, everything okay?" He asked, concern in his voice, but a chill expression on his face nonetheless. I shook my head. "What can I do to help?" I shrugged my shoulders: this was all way much more than I could deal with and it had come out of literally nowhere. "Take some deep breaths?" He suggested, not needing my answer before starting some basic exercise we'd talked about once or twice. They helped me calm down, but didn't actually make me feel any less overwhelmed. My head was not banging and thudding with each beat of my heart and I swear the world had gotten brighter and hotter in the last 5 minutes. Just before I closed my eyes and buried my head into my knees, I saw him get out his phone and press the call button.

Aimsey's POV:

We were just finishing paying for everything at the checkout when my phone begun ringing. "Hey Sneeg," I said, casually.

"Hey, I'm outside with Ran and they're a bit overwhelmed but I'm not sure how to help."

"I'll come out now." I said, immediately walking away from my group with little to no explanation.

When I saw him sat on the bench, I knew immediately he was in a shutdown. Their body was curled in as close as it could go and they tapped the back of their head with their hands at a constant pace. No one else knew about the autism diagnosis; it was a new thing (well the diagnosis, but not the inkling that he was autistic) and they were still deciding how to deal people. Everyone knew Ranboo dealt with a bit of anxiety and seemed to struggle busy settings every now and again, but that was just Ranboo. If anyone else had thought about him actually being neurodivergent, they hadn't mentioned it. It was the respectful thing to do and I knew Ran thanked them deep down. Finding out that you are different to everyone on a core level is nice (at least for understanding yourself) but it can also be a bit daunting.

"Hey, do you want to go on a walk?" I suggested, noticing a small pathway at the end of the car park. They didn't move. "Or we can go to the car?" Still nothing. I knew by this point he'd be desperately trying to scream out, but his body just wouldn't allow it. "I'm going to sit right here and we can just wait until things are better." I really messed up the wording of that one but knew they'd get what I meant.

After 5 or so minutes, everyone came out of the shop and began walking towards the cars. I waved and Bill cocked his head before almost diving back into the trolley and running over with something. "It's a baby yoda toy," he said, pausing to catch his breath, "and it's his."

"Oh."

I turned as Bill put it in front of Ran and said, "hey, did you want the baby yoda toy mate?" And to my surprise, they brought their head up from their knees, took the toy and smiled just enough so that I could see it through the mask.

"Would you like to go to the car?" I asked.

They nodded, "can I get my headphones?"

"Sure! Where are they?" He pointed in the direction of the car. "Okay then, let's go." They smiled again, still quiet and with his head hanging down to stare at the floor, but that was okay. You never came out of a shut down with the snap of your fingers.

I saw him messing with the fabric of the toy and realised that was why it had helped. It was something to preoccupy themselves with and help take their mind off everything swimming around within it. Sometimes I wondered if I truly helped when I tried to do so. Like maybe I just made everything worse and Ran didn't mention it. I hoped what I did was okay, but I never really knew and I never know how to ask.

"Thanks," he said, taking my hand and squeezing it. Our little secret message that we'd do when we wanted the other to really know something. Whether it be a thank you, or a 'I've just said I'm fine but I'm really not fine'. And that calmed all my doubts in a second.

A/N Hello! How is everyone? I hope you're doing well, and thank you for being here.

Thank you Technoblade for having maybe the funniest live chat out of everyone. It is just a shame they won't ever get to act in full force again.
