The request for this chapter was: Dream and the dream team doing a face reveal in public and him becoming overstimulated
Obviously this was requested before he face revealed, but I'm going to write it anyway because I want to. Hope you enjoy!
Dream's POV:
Today I was doing a face reveal, live at a convention. Obviously I hadn't planned it that way. I wanted to to sort it all out, do a big video for it and really make it a big thing. I knew Twitter would probably be angry if I didn't do it like that. But suddenly TwitchCon crept up on me, and I was doing meet and greets there, and pannels, interviews, games. I also was meeting loads of content creators either for the first time, or IRL for the first time. So with 3 days until Sapnap and I got on a plane, I didn't exactly have time to film a video. I was busy packing, due to it being something I found very stressful.
I didn't want to bother Nick, because he was busy too, and had his own packing to do, so my packing took three times as long as it does for a normal person. ADHD and autism diagnosis, don't make me normal, but that's fine. I kind of like it that way, even if sometimes it causes issues. Wouldn't the world be boring if we were all the same? Techno and I often talked about how there were positive amongst all the negatives. If you forget to focus on them, you got bogged down and never really moved anywhere.
I had spent enough years never moving.
But here I was, now moving very quickly out the front door to the taxi where Sapnap was already sat. "You got everything?" I ran through the checklist on my phone, before running back into the house for my noise cancelling headphone charger.
"You got everything now?" Nick said with a smile as I sat next to him in the taxi. I just nodded, and turned to look at something on my phone. "It's going to be fine, you know."
"I know."
"Are you sure you know? Cause you seem pretty stressed about it all."
"Well, I am going to face reveal in front of everyone. You'd be stressed too!" He sighed and smiled again. "You've got this!"
"Sure." I said, still not looking up from my phone and fiddling with one of my hoodie strings.
"You could say it a little more like you believe it." I gave him a look and went back to my phone. "Okay, I get it, I'll leave you to it." I put my noise cancelling headphones on my ears, played one of my favourite songs on repeat and tried to focus on a video I had in the works. Anything to tear my mind away from cycling around the stress of face revealing.
Time skip:
We woke up late. Well, we had gone to bed late, so that was sort of our fault. It was the first day of the con, and the day I was supposed to face reveal. Sapnap and I were in a twin room at the hotel, just so I knew someone was right there if I needed them. I tended to not reach out for the help otherwise. Just sit with it until it consumed me and I'd have a shutdown.
I grabbed the mask I had had made especially, on my way out the door and followed Sapnap down the corridor of the hotel. "George is already down there, he says he'll meet us backstage. And the twitch person if going to meet us right outside that bit we talked about yesterday." I made a quiet humming sound in response and continued to follow my friend down the corridor. "Have you got everything yea?" I gave another hum, as I tapped my backpack strap twice.
The rest of the walk was practically silent, but in my head it was loud and confusing and it was consuming me. I was so worried and anxious, and the idea of disappointing people felt like it had me in a chokehold. Nick was so busy on his phone, he didn't even notice. And like I said, I very rarely reach out.
