Ranboo's POV:
A car pulled up to the side of us and asked whether we had called an uber, after confirmation it was actually for us, we climbed in and started getting back to mine. Aimee and I at the very least both had jackets on, whether or not they were waterproof, however, Tommy was wearing shorts and a short sleeve t shirt. He looked completely frozen, and we apologised to the driver about getting their seats wet. Tommy stared distantly at the floor as he sat in the middle of the back seat. I felt helpless sat there watching him, but truly there was little I could do.
I recognised we were getting close to mine and got ready to get out the car. Aimsey did the same whilst Tommy remained completely motionless. The jolt of the car coming to a stop didn't seem to snap him out of his trance either.
"Let's go Tommy." Aimsey said, placing their hand on his shoulder again and guided him over to the porch whilst I paid the driver.
I let them in the house, and we went upstairs quickly, Tommy following despondently behind. "You alright?" I asked finally, taking him into my stream room and gesturing for him to sit down on a beanbag.
He shook his head, sniffling and wiping his eyes.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Aimsey asked, looking at me with concern as we both sat next to Tommy who was still shivering. I grabbed a blanket that was in the room for a reason I couldn't remember and wrapped it around his shoulders. He sunk into it and sniffled once more.
"Just got too much. There were people kissing in the room I was supposed to reset in and then Tubbo and Freddy both got drunk, and I just couldn't d-deal with it anymore! It was supposed to be fun, it just sucks." He broke down into tears at the end and buried his head to his knees.
"Do you want some time to reset now?" I offered, it being a long time since I was designated gathering person and had actually had to help. Tommy was really good resetting himself and it meant that normally, you were a last resort, but a comfort so that Tommy knew he had options.
"I don't want to be alone." He said, not containing his tears.
"I promise you won't be alone. We are going to be here." I said, in an effort to reassure him.
"I'm sorry, this is so stupid, I just can't bear being alone anywhere right now."
"It's okay, I get it." Aimsey said, and Tommy trusted what they said because he knew she got it well and truly. In a different way to how everyone else 'got it'.
"You can stay here as long as you need, I'll give you a towel and some pajamas, and you can have a shower." I noticed how he cringed at the word shower.
"Would a shower be too overwhelming right now?" Aimee asked, immediately understanding Tommy's reaction. He gave a small nod. "Then don't worrying about showering, Ran do you have like one of those microwaveable heat things?"
"Oh yea, good idea, that'll warm you up." He nodded and pulled the blanket up around him a little closer.
"My jumper is still at Jack's," he said quietly, curling up on the beanbag.
"We can get it another day," the shorter one of us said, holding his hand out for Tommy to take. He took it, standing up and letting the blanket drop. "Let's just get warm, sit down and reset properly." Tommy nodded, and I followed along with the plan that had just been formed in front of me.
Time skip:
Aimsey's POV:
I carried Tommy's hot chocolate over and placed it on the coffee table. He was practically asleep already, but it was sure to help with that. Tommy had requested we watched some Urban Rescue Ranch videos on youtube for a bit, and neither Ran nor I had any reason to complain.
The pajamas were maybe a size too big for him, but the blanket covered most of his body as he lay there on the sofa. His wet hair was still a mop on his head even though Ran and I had offered to blow dry it for him. It was still too overwhelming, and I got that, but it was hard to see your friend so different? So abnormal for them? I knew he was struggling, and I knew what it felt like to struggle in that way: in short, it wasn't nice.
"Tommy, your hot chocolate is there." He hummed lightly, opening his eyes just a little to check I wasn't lying to him before closing them again.
"Youtube?" He whispered.
"Ranboo is getting changed and then he'll put it on the tv." I answered, now finally sitting down on the sofa.
"You promise not to laugh?"
"At what?" I said, joining in on the whisper Tommy was doing.
"Can you ruffle my hair a bit?"
"Would you like me to run my fingers through it?" I said with a small smile thinking that, without knowing him properly, TommyInnit is the last person you'd expect to like to have people run fingers through his hair. He nodded and so I reached my hands down to his head just lying next to me and did as he had asked. He had fallen asleep by the time Ran had gotten downstairs. There was no need for hot chocolate or youtube videos, he was out like a light.
"We should send a text to Tubbo and Freddy letting them know where Tommy is." Ran whispered, both of us now sat on our phones and talking quietly as Tommy still lay asleep on the sofa.
"Good idea," I replied. "They'll probably go to bed without thinking about it and wake up worried."
"Mhm."
"Has Tommy had this before?" I asked.
"Never this bad, normally he can like reset himself or get home before he gets like this. I've not known him that long though, maybe he has dealt with it like this when he was younger?"
"Probably. You have to work at learning how to reset yourself."
"You ever been like this?"
"Sort of different with ADHD, but yea, I've been like this. Curled up on myself, in my bedroom over as something as simple as my computer fan."
"Is it tiering? He always seems so tired after it, but I've never seen him as tired as this."
"Yea meltdowns, sensory overloads, it's all exhausting, it's like being torn apart and then having to put yourself back together."
"That sounds like it sucks."
"It does. He'll probably sleep until tomorrow afternoon if we let him."
"I say we let him then."
I just smiled, "who knows? I just hope he doesn't mind us kidnapping him like that."
"He's not alone. I may not know loads, but I know he didn't want to be alone tonight."
"Fair enough." The room fell into silence again and before we knew it, we were sleeping downstairs on the sofas too, just so he wasn't alone. We wanted to keep our promise.
A/n Hey. This is the last of the pre-written oneshots. I'm going to try and write some more oneshots to dribble in on the scheduled update days, but it will go back to the normal just me and him updates every monday and friday for now. Thanks for allowing me to take the break, I really needed it.
Thank you Technoblade for teaching me that taking breaks didn't mean people would hate me.
