Unexpectedly Attached To You

Chapter 29

I spent the whole day trying to get myself around the building. Hindi ako nag-saty sa office kahit na gusto ko. I am a manager, kailangan kong imanage ang employees ng company. Alam ko na bukas pa kami dapat maguumpisa pero wala naman akong ginagawa ngayon kaya nagikot-ikot ako. Alam ko na kung saan ako pupunta dahil tinuro naman na saamin ni dad kanina. It also helped to take my mind off things for a while.

"Hello ma'am." Bati saakin ng isang babae. "Miss Fernandez po, right?" She asked and I just smiled and nodded as a response.

"Tamara, po. I'm your assistant manager." Pakilala niya.

"Oh hello. Sorry, alam ko bukas pa dapat kami maguumpisa pero wala kasi akong magawa. Is there anything that I can start on na?" I politely asked her.

"Madami na po, miss. I'm sure na naipaliwanag na sainyo ni sir Fernandez ang mga kailangan niyo po'ng gawin. Pero kung kailangan niyo pa po ng tulong, don't hesitate to call on me." Sagot nito habang naglalakad na kami pabalik sa office ko.

Once we got there, she took some papers out from one of the organizers on one of my shelves. Apparently, naipayos na ni dad lahat para saaming dalawa ni Theo. Lahat ng tatrabahuin namin ay naka-ayos na.

Both me and Theo had the same tasked assigned to us. Kaya hindi kami pwedeng magdesisyon ng basta basta ng mag-isa. We need to seek each other's opinions and agree on one decision before taking action and informing the staff. Kahit sa maliit na bagay lang, kailangan naming magkasundo. Which now may look like it may be the hardest thing, pero I trust my fathers opinion and if he thinks Theo and I can do this together, then I trust that Theo will be professional with me when it comes to work.

Iniwan na muna ako ni Tamara para maasikaso ko yung mga dapat kong gawin nang mag-isa.

I read through the papers to figure out what I should be working on first. Napa-tama talaga ang timing ng pagumpisa namin ni Theo ng trabaho dahil kailangan na kailangan ng company ng tulong. Especially now that my dad isn't that active in participating in the workplace because he is focusing on family.

May bagong project ang company along with partnership with an engineering group para hindi mag-short ng staff dahil madaming bagong villa at estates ang ipapatayo para sa project na ito. It's all new. Wala pang ibang plano as of now. Architects are only just starting to work on designs.

"Hello again miss. I'll remind you lang po that you and Mr. Fernandez have a meeting with the engineering group tomorrow at 9 am." Tamara reminded me.

"Yes. I am aware na. Thanks for reminding me." I smiled then continued to browse through the papers.

Ipapatanong ko palang sana kung ano na ang progress ng mga architects but considering that there is a meeting tomorrow, doon ko nalang tatanungin.

I spent the rest of my day getting my self used to the new environment. Dinalhan din ako ng meryenda ni Brylle noong hapon but he didn't stay because he is trying to build his own business.

Noong pagka-uwi ko naman. I stayed in my room with Brylle. We talked about our days at work. Obviously mas mahirap ang trabaho ni Brylle because he is starting from nothing while I am a manager on my first day. I knew I had to work as good as I can to prove that I am not just worthy of owning the company, but also that I am worthy of the position I was given.

The next day, I woke up earlier that I got used to dahil may meeting pa kami ng 9 am. Hindi naman malayo ang company, I just wanted to be sure I wouldn't be late for not just the meeting but my very first official day at work.

I ate breakfast with yaya Glenda and told her about my life in Italy. She patiently listened as I tried to finish my food.

As I was walking out the door, doon ko narealize na wala pala akong sasakyan dito. I don't have my own car and neither does Brylle. I had to take extra time to wait for an empty taxi to pass. It looks like this will be my daily routine now.
