Unexpectedly Attached To You

Chapter 14

It took me a while to process what he said. And there he was just smiling at me waiting for me to give him an answer to his question.

"Is that a way of asking me to be your girlfriend or are you just really asking me if I want to be?" I wanted to clear it up. I didn't want to misinterpret what he said.

"Pwede both?" He smiled even more.

"Yes." I just said.

"Yes what?"

"Yes, pwede both. And yes, I do want to be your girlfriend." I let it out. Somehow, lahat ng kahihiyan sa katawan ko ay nawala ngayong araw.

Noah didn't say anything. He just smiled as he examined my face.

"Are you not going to say anything?" I took a step back. He was so close that I felt like he could hear my heart beat.

"I had so many things to say. Pero now? My mind is blank." I didn't know how to react to that. Is that supposed to be a good thing?

"I will admit, I expected you to say a lot more." I sat back down on the swing.

"I expected you to not say anything about sa nararamdaman mo."

"Lahat naman 'to unexpected." I laughed. "You used to be just a classmate. For four years."

"And now?"

"Now I'm unexpectedly attached to you." I saw another smile trace his lips.

He took a few steps closer and sat on the ground, cross-legged in front of me.

"I'm unexpectedly attached to you too." I finally gave in and let the smile that I've been holding in out.

"What now?" biglang tanong ko. For some reason natawa si Noah. "Bakit?" What did I say this time?

"I don't know. What do you want to do?"

"Watch the sun set on some rooftop." I answered after seeing that the sun is still out at nearly 5:30 pm.

"Oddly specific, but okay." He stood up off the ground and held out his hand. "Tara na. Baka hindi pa natin maabutan."

I took his hand and we walked together to his truck. Again, like earlier, he put his hands on my waist to help me into his truck.

During the drive, he never asked me if I knew any rooftops like I suggested. I figured he already had a place in mind.

"Okay. Let's go." He said when he was finished fully parking his car in a random building's parking lot.

I was quickly taking off my seatbelt because Noah went out of the truck without me. He then opened my door.

He held my hand as I jumped out.

"Paano tayo makakapasok diyan?" I asked looking at the guards at the entrance of the building. He pointed up.

"What?! Sainyo 'to?! I didn't expect it to be this big!" It was so huge na nangangawit na ako kakatingin sa pangalan ng building.

"Let's go." He pulled me by the arm. For some reason he sounded excited.

Hindi kami inihinto ng guards dahil siguro kilala na nila si Noah. Lahat din ng mga nadadaanan namin ay binabati kami.

Noah continued to pull me into an elevator and he pressed the button to the highest floor. It took a while to get there because of the people who got in and went out of the elevator.

I was just watching the big red number change after every floor. Noah never let go of my hand and I didn't even think of letting go either.

Once we reached the last floor, he pulled me out and into a door that lead to a staircase. Umakyat siya na hila-hila padin ako kaya nakasunod lang ako sakaniya.
