"Hindi pa kami." I answered.
"God, parang mas masstress pa ako sa love life niyong tatlo kaysa saakin." Aiden said.
"Aiden, kung si Lia ang pinaguusapan, si Lia lang ang paguusapan." Pagtataray ni Zira. "Pero totoo ang gulo. Hindi pa kayo? Pa? So you will be? Nililigawan ka? Bakit 'di mo pa sagutin?"
"Hindi ko din alam." I heard them all sigh in unison. "It's a complicated situation okay? Tinatansya ko pa sarili ko." Pagdadahilan ko.
"Let's stop talking about that. It's making my head hurt." Putol ni Grey. "Why are we the last ones to find out you're back? Tsaka bakit ngayon lang? Graduation season happened months ago."
"I became busy. Pero nagplano talaga akong kausapin kayo. Talagang nawala lang sa isip ko because of everything I had to think about."
"Hindi mo naman kailangan mag-explain 'no. Kahit ano pa 'yan alam mo namang iintindihin namin. Kahit ilang decades ka pang walang paramdam, your excuse will always be valid para sa'min. Alam man namin o hindi. Kahit nga magpakita ka pa sa lahat ng tao bago saamin, we're still your friends. Favorites don't matter." Zira assured me.
"Don't get cheesy with me please. Maii-speechless nanaman ako." I laughed.
We spent time talking about how their lives have been while I was gone. As expected, ako lang ang walang alam sa mga nangyayari at nangyari na sa buhay nila because of the fact that I was gone and the only person I was talking to was Sky. And Sky is the kind of guy that isn't into telling stories about other people. Kaya wala akong idea sa mga pwedeng naging events in my friends' lives for the past four years except for the small image I put in my head about what I have known about them from high school.
Soon throughout the many conversations we had, Noah came back into the living room to finish painting the wall at hinyaan ko na siya dahil patapos na rin naman 'yon and I know that he will understand if I won't join him. I was too intrigued by the stories I was hearing.
Somehow when he finished he went to sit next to me with a slightly wet facial towel in his hands.
He then proceeded to gently pull my head so that I was facing him. He started to wipe something off my face. I assumed it was some paint that might've dripped on me earlier.
Hinayaan ko lang siya because I was too invested in the conversation to even realize that people are watching.
"Ay..." Azira reacted.
"Uuwi nalang ako. Ginagawa niyo pa akong third wheel." Aiden said. I caught a glimpse of how Zira nudged him.
"Anong third wheel? Andyan si Azira and Grey oh." Sagot ko.
"Fifth wheel pala." Aiden cleared.
"Bakit fifth wheel?" I asked, confused.
"You don't know?" Nanlalaki ang matang tanong ni Aiden.
"Don't know what?"
"Wala." Singit ni Azira.
"Wala?" Salita naman ni Grey.
I felt the awkwardness between all three of them but my brain was as if it was lagging dahil hindi ko ma-gets kung bakit.
"Wala?" I asked back.
"Azira and Grey had a little more than friendship between them after you left." Bulong sakin ni Noah na nasa tabi ko pa'din.
"Oh..."
I had questions that I couldn't ask for very obvious reasons.
How did I not pick up on that?
I didn't question how Noah knew dahil alam ko naman na kaibigan niya si Trixy and he might've seen their "more than friendship" phase together.
