"So, where do you live?" Noah started as we exited the school's parking lot. I gave him a confused look.

"Don't act like you don't know." I laughed and he cleared his throat.

"Right." He whispered but loud enough for me to hear.

"I guess nasunod din ang gusto mo na sumakay ako sa sasakyan mo." I slightly teased.

"Yeah." He smiled. "So close na tayo." I looked at him, shocked.

"Says who?" His smile grew wider.

"Says you." He replied with his eyes glued in front of him.

"I never said we were close." I said in a unsure tone while shifting in his passenger's seat.

"Well you're in my truck and you said being close is a requirement for you to do that." I quickly glanced back at him. He was still smiling.

"I had no choice." I calmly said. "Plus, you said you don't like being friends with girls. And obviously, I am a girl." I motioned to myself.

"I never said being close means we're friends." His smile has now turned into a smirk.

"So, what does it mean?" I asked once I recovered from his confidence.

"Anything you want it to be." He replied, still without taking his eyes off the road.

"Friends." I said confidently and copied Noah, gluing my eyes in front of me.

"Friends? Are you sure you want to be friends with me?" Confusion was written all over my face.

"You're right. Maybe I don't."

Considering his perspective with being friends with girls. Plus his attitude that somehow always changes. I don't want to be friends with this guy. I don't want to be involved with him.

I felt his eyes on me but I didn't look back.

"Are you free tomorrow? After school?" He asked starting a conversation once again.

"That depends on why your asking." I looked out of the window to make sure he won't see how confusion is evident in my expressions. He keeps asking me questions out of the blue. Why does he have to make the topics so... awkward?

"I was thinking of going somewhere." I finally gave in and looked at him.

"Where?" I asked trying not to show how unsure I am with this conversation.

"Wherever the day takes us." He stated in a slightly questioning tone. "Any ideas?"

I felt so awkward. My seat suddenly feels so uncomfortable. I took a deep breath and tried to switch the situation and put him in a awkward place.

"Are you asking me on a date, Noah?" I said and tried my best to pull off a smirk.

He turned his head to me for a split second and cleared his throat before replying.

"Well if that's what you want to call it. Then it's a date."

God, how does he always have the words to put me in these kinds of situations?

"I'm not going to be one of your flings Noah." I looked straight and didn't want to look back.

Why does the drive home suddenly feel so long?

"Come on, Lia. Have a little fun in your life. Hindi ka ba nagsasawa? Isn't it boring? Walang thrill." He said in such a convincing tone that I almost gave in right away.

I snapped myself back into reality before I was close to saying anything.

"Think about it. I'll pick you up tomorrow." He said and stopped in front of our house. Without saying a word I got out of the truck and ran inside the house to avoid getting wet.
