Unexpectedly Attached To You

Chapter 30

"Good Morning." Bati ko kay Theo na nakita kong papasok na din sa kompanya the next day.

Nag-aabang pa'din ako ng sasakyan na taxi while he was getting into his car.

Hindi niya ako sinagot and I didn't care. Hindi naman niya kailangan maging professional dahil wala naman kami sa kompanya ngayon.

He left me in front of our house and I just brushed it off. Hindi ako pwedeng magpaapekto sa mga maliliit na bagay lang.

I was still waiting for a taxi to drive by when I heard our gate behind me open. Napalingon naman ako sa nagbukas nito but to my dissapointment, it was my kuya. I didn't know how to act around him kaya nahihirapan ako kapag kaming dalawa lang ang magkaharap.

I had no idea what he was doing. Halata naman na hindi siya aalis pero lumabas pa'din siya.

I got even more questions when he decided to stand like he was waiting for someone. Iniwasan ko na isipin 'yon dahil wala naman talaga akong dapat isaisip sa mga kilos niya. Diba?

We were both quiet. Wala na ata siyang balak magsalita kaya naman naisipan ko na ako na ang mauna para naman mabawasan ng awkward silence sa pagitan namin.

"Hi kuya." I greeted. I tried to make my tone pleasant.

He was still quiet. Hindi niya ako sinagot o tinignan manlang.

"How's life?" I asked.

Nothing.

"Kamusta na career mo?" Tanong ko ulit.

Still nothing.

"I went to college." Umpisa ko. If he didn't want to talk about himself then i'll talk about me.

Nakita ko na na-confuse siya sa biglang sabi ko, but he still didn't say anything.

"I took fine arts. Unexpected nga talaga 'yon, as you may know. Pero masaya ako do'n." Tuloy ko.

"I don't care what you did." He finally answered in a cold tone.

"Well, I just wanted to let you know." Napayuko ako.

"Bakit pa? When you left and stopped caring, ginaya na din kita. I stopped caring." Deretsong sabi niya.

I took a pause as I absorbed his words.

"Alam ko naman 'yon 'no. You stopped caring even before I left." I smiled to myself.

I didn't expect another answer and I didn't receive one.

I looked at him as he finally turned around to lead someone in the house. The girl he was waiting for finally arrived.

I had my speculations and questions pero alam ko na wala akong makukuhang sagot kaya hinayaan ko nalang siya.

A few minutes later naka-sakay na din ako ng taxi at nakarating na sa company.

"Good morning Ms. Fernandez. There is someone waiting for you in your office po." Bungad ni Tamara noong nakita niya ako. I nodded to here and head straight to my office.

"Good morning." Bati saakin ni Noah. He was the one waiting for me.

"Good morning Mr. Riverson. I'm sorry you had to wait. Next time kung may kailangan ka, you can go to Mr. Fernandez for help." Sabi ko as I got settled into my office for the day.

Madaming tanong. Sobrang weird ng feeling. Pero hindi ko pinahalata. We were still business partners. Hindi ko siya maiiwasan. That's why I choose to be professional in front of him. Dahil 'yon naman ang tama. I couldn't let my past affect how I appear to people.
