I woke up the next morning to knocks on my door. I lazily got up and opened the door for whoever was on the other side.
With my eyes barely open I saw Anthony's figure standing in my doorway.
"Hi. Good morning. Pinapagising ka na kasi ng mom mo. Magbreakfast na daw tayo." He said unsurely pero nababakas sa tono niya na sinusubukan niyang maging mas mataas saakin.
I nodded at him then closed my bedroom door without saying anything.
I wanted to throw myself back onto my bed pero alam kong hindi ko na 'yon magagawa nang hindi nalelate.
But instead of going downstairs to eat with everyone else, dumeretso ako sa bathroom para maligo. I didn't care if they were waiting for me. Hindi pa din ako ready para harapin sila.
After getting ready I sat on my bed just waiting for the right time to leave for school.
"Pwede ba kitang ihatid?" Anthony asked through my closed door. I learned to recognize his voice because it looks like magtatagal na siya dito.
I stood up, got my bag and walked out of my door.
"Tara?" I said without waiting for him.
Hindi naman siya nagtagal, nakasunod na din siya saakin. He unlocked his car for me and I immediately got in.
Noong nasa sasakyan na kami, inabutan niya ako ng isang paper bag. I quickly gave him a questioning look.
"Breakfast." He smiled.
I nodded as a thank you and we fell quiet for the whole ride.
"Before you go, I just wanted to say sorry again. And kung kailangan mo ako, available ako anytime para sa'yo. I promise I will do anything to make it up to you." Habol niya bago ako makalabas ng sasakyan niya.
I flashed him a small smile.
Did I appreciate his words? Was he really that dedicated or did he just say that? Hindi ko alam ang pakiramdam ng may father figure. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang ginagawa ng tatay. I never really cared. This is all new to me.
As I walked to class, the realization that everything about me is changing. Well, more people are coming into my life and it seems like they're the reason why it's changing. Noah came into my life and made me even more contented. Then Anthony came saying he would do anything to make it up to me.
I have no idea where I am headed pero I feel safe thinking that they are close to me.
"Good morning, Lia!" Malakas na bati saakin ni Azira nang nakita niya akong naglalakad. "Uy ano yan?" turo niya sa paper bag na hawak ko.
"Breakfast ko." I answered.
"Hindi ka pa kumakain? Baka paggalitan ka ng jowa mo niyan ha." She joked.
"Edi magalit siya." Maikling sabi ko.
"Ay ganon? LQ ba kayo?" she dropped her smile.
"Hindi."
"Bakit parang LQ?" She continued.
"Hindi ko alam."
"Huli na ako sa chismis sa'yo ha. Kwentuhan mo ako. Paano naging kayo?" She asked me.
"Long story." I said.
"Hindi yan. Tara kainin mo breakfast mo tapos kwentuhan mo ako." She pushed.
"Okay. Mamaya na nga lang. Paano ako kakain 'pag magkukwento?" I gave in.
"Sabagay. Sige mamaya nalang. After mo'ng kumain." I nodded to her and she followed me to one of the tables in the school's garden.
I started eating and she was just sitting, on her phone.
