Andy POV:
I ran out into the streets when the car alarm went off and someone yelled out in surprise and fright. I didn't know what had happened, but when I heard something crash I knew it couldn't be good.

But what I saw was beyond my ability to absorb.

I ran to Katie as people took her off the car she had landed on and placed her on the pavement.

I cursed and hissed as I kneeled down to her.

She was alive.

She was awake.

Her breathing was rapid and she stared at me, she was in serious pain as she tried to talk. "Andy I... I can't feel my legs..." she breathed frantically. I was lost or words as she seemed to try and move.

"No! Katie, come on, stay still, stay still until paramedics arrive."

"It hurts! It hurts!" Katie grunted through clenched teeth. She was bleeding from the back of her head onto the pavement, her arms were covered in scratched and she looked pretty beat up.

How the hell had she survived the fall though!

Booker soon stood next to me and leaned over Katie. The normally calm and composed author was even struggling to remain calm, his arms were trembling and his voice was breathless as he spoke to her. "Katie, it's me. Booker. I've called an ambulance, just try to stay away for us..." he managed to say.

I looked up and Alex leaning over his railing and seeing the horror of Katie's crippled being on the ground before disappearing and coming out as well.

Everything seemed so slow, but ended in a flash.

We were all pushed back for the paramedics to come forwards and look after Katie. Liam and Cassidy came down, Cassidy in tears of shock as was forced to use Liam to hold herself up. But eyes remained glued to Katie, she was in obvious pain, but she didn't cry. It was like she refused to, but she wasn't trying to.

I couldn't hear what anybody was saying at first, my eyes were mainly stuck on Katie's permanent wince as a neck brace was applied to her and she was placed delicately onto a stretcher. Several needles were given to her as she was quickly but carefully lifted up.

Everything seemed to speed up suddenly as Katie started yelling out for me. "Andy! Andy!" she cried.

I came when I was called, standing next to her as she desperately to me and started crying. I softly hushed her as I was somehow guided into the ambulance and got to sit next to her so she wouldn't be too distressed on the ride. I looked out the window and Adam had come running down and seemed to try and go after Katie, only to be picked up by the tear stricken Cassidy.

Adam soon started crying, obviously knowing enough about the situation that something bad had happened to Katie.

The doors were suddenly closed and the alarm bellowed out into existence as we started moving. While the frantic movements of the ambulance affected me, Katie remained still on the stretcher as the ambulance weaved in and out of the traffic. The paramedics around her were doing things I lost track of, too many needles and machines hooked up to her for my liking. I just paid attention to her as I tried not to cry.

"Am I going to die, Andy?" she asked desperately.

Those words were heartbreaking for me. It was like my own daughter was lying before me, and to see her so broken, body and spirit, was something I refused to accept. "You're okay, Katie. You're strong... you're stubborn," I said trying to lighten the mood. Despite her pain she looked at me somewhat confused by my statement.
