I started walking Goldie again like I do every second morning. The family really did want to keep their dog active, but I wondered why they didn't do it themselves. I knew they were grandparents now, but they had grandkids who were constantly there and were ten years or younger.

Goldie's leash was tight. He was walking me.

I managed to make it to my building. I looked up at the building; I was hoping to get a upgrade on my residence soon. It seemed like a nice place and all, but it didn't really yell successful.

I wanted to be a movie director, but my uni classes wanted me to be some sort of manager first, work my way up. I managed to make a few YouTube stars, but soon they would ditch me and try to make it on their own, thinking they could actually be successful on their own. Well a lot of them were talented, but complete idiots, I wouldn't have minded letting them go solo, but none of them knew how to and they were very rude about ditching me.

When their fame started going down, every one of them crawled back to me, and I sent them all away. People irked me now and I didn't want anything to do with talented people anymore.

Now I was currently clientless and my prac examinations for my directing classes were going down the toilet. At the rate I was going, I was going to fail the practical part of the class. The theory was fine so far.

I started the walk down the street but I heard Katie's voice call to me from above. "Hey Alex, wait up!" I looked up and watched as she climbed over Isaac's railing and onto the fire escape, she raced down the railings, practically slipping and sliding and came to the last floor above the alleyway before the ladder.

She leaned over and beckoned me over.

I walked over to her, Goldie's eyes found her and he started barking and whining for her to come down.

"Where are you going?" she asked, she was now kneeling on the ground of the fire escape and stuck her head out between the bars looking down on her.

"Just here and there, gotta take Goldie walking," he explained.

"May I come?" she asked.

I blinked several times and nodded, "umm... sure," I replied.

She gave me a giggly smile as she dropped herself off the fire escape and landed skilfully on the ground. "Then let us be off," she announced childishly.

I smiled as we walked down the street and eventually got to the park. She was a very well-rounded person. We talked on and on and when we got to the park she sat down on a bench and pulled out what looked like some sort of mini flute or a whistle. "What's that?" I asked when she did show if off, it was golden in colour.

"It's like a whistle," she explained, Goldie tilted his head as he sat in front of us, "not a dog whistle."

Without an invitation, she started playing. The tune was very chirpy, very uplifting. It sounded like something out of a fairy-tale. I sighed as I listened quietly to the tune. Goldie even seemed calm as he laid his head down at our feet. It was one of the few times I've ever seen him calm.

Sadly, her song ended.

Our attention was suddenly brought to a different type of music, a more hip-hop styled. It sounded like it was coming from down the pathway. We both turned, a small crowd of people were around something. "What's going on?" she asked.

I shrugged, "no idea."

She stood up, "let's go then," she said grabbing my hand and pulling me forwards. I was stumbling and was jerked back when Goldie was too slow to catch up.
