A few hours later, I heard Isaac playing in his apartment again. I smiled as I walked over to the wall and leaned against the wall to listen more effectively. He wasn't really strumming anything that made sense together.
But after a moment he started playing.
I sighed through my nose as I rested my head on the wall and closed my eyes to listen.
I wondered what music people didn't like of his. Would I not like it? Or am I too much of an optimist to notice bad music?
I've used, what people say, some shockers of music when I dance sometimes. But I never notice, the music is always just quirky or odd or uniquely written to my ears. My stomach soon growled and I sighed as I rested my head on the wall and forced myself to stand. I walked into the kitchen and opened a cookie jar; I more appropriately named the sweetie jar, and pulled out a ten dollar note.
I was about to leave when someone knocked on my door first. The strumming next door ceased.
I opened the door and saw Lily Merlin, she was wearing a pink party hat and smiled drunk at me, "hello sweetie," she slurred leaning against the door frame amused.
I couldn't help but smile, "umm... hi Lily," I was holding back a giggle.
Her speech was so slurred I could hardly understand what she was saying. I caught her when she tried to turn around and walk down the stairs. I twirled her around and pressed the elevator door. "Weeeeee!" she exclaimed as I twirled her into the elevator and pressed her floor.
She was laughing hysterically, even Isaac opened his door. I gave him a squared smile as the door closed. Her room opened up and I went wide eyed at the mess in the hallway, it looked like a party room threw up in the hallway. I stepped over a bowling ball in the middle of the hallway and watched as a balloon bobbed up and down in the air and soon sank.
I saw Mr Merlin passed out leaning against the wall, a bottle in his hand and a tilted hat on his head.
"Tonight was fun," Lily informed laughing as she stumbled out of the elevator.
I looked around at the hallway, "certainly looks like it..." I mumbled as I practically picked Lily up and walked forwards; one of her feet dragging behind us as I made it to one of the doors and opened it. I went wide eyed, it was even worse than the hallway, one of the lounges had been turned over, the coffee table had cup after cup stacked and the TV mounted on the wall had been tilted. On the ground and everywhere else, there were streamers, beer bottles, wine bottles, balloons and there was even something smoking in the kitchen.
There were people in the room, people I didn't know. Most were out cold, some were kissing rather passionately and then I saw one stacking cups on the coffee table.
Liam took a look at me and smiled, "hello, stranger," he smirked.
I practically dropped the giggling Lily on the ground, "umm... what happened?" I asked looking around.
"The Merlins had a party and invited me," he informed raising a cup, "but damn, these guys can drink more than me."
"They can't hold it down," I informed looking at the evidence before me.
He shrugged, "still an amusing party. Andy was fine with it but I think Alex is wearing headphones with tissues stuffed in them," he explained looking up. I couldn't help but look up also. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
I walked over and snatched it from his lips.
He smirked, "got a whole lot of packets in my apartment sweetheart," he informed looking at me as I stomped the cigarette. "You wanna go up there and gather them all be my guest," he informed, "I've tried everything sweet cheeks, patches, gum, willpower and all that crap."
