Katie POV:
I shrugged, "If my dancing partner asks for a dance how can I say no?" I asked.
Alex seemed to whoop at his success as he took my hand in his and softly tugged me towards him until we were part of the main dance floor. He gave me soft twirls and spins and dipped me on a couple of occasions so suddenly and quickly I often laughed aloud. He helped me to stand up from a dip and I fell into him from his swift flick.
"And to think, you said you couldn't dance," I giggled as I went a little closer to him.
He shrugged, "never really considered my dancing skills before you," he informed. "Better get practising though, because I think I rather enjoy this," he confessed, he looked like he was blushing.
It took me a moment to realise he was talking about when we were slow dancing this close to each other, my hands were encased in his and we were pressed against each other softly as we swayed in each other's company. I don't know why, but this moment made me blush, I had slow danced with Alex before, but this felt a little different. My stomach was dropping while my heartbeat rose to new heights.
I could feel a blush of embarrassment coming on as I pressed my face against his shoulder in an attempt to hide it.His intoxicating smell only made me potentially deepen it since I had to get a lot closer to him. I spent most of our dance with my eyes closed and his body heat pressed against mine. I could feel his heartbeat, and I knew he must've felt something different this time around otherwise we both wouldn't be so rapid. Maybe that's why I felt so delightfully anxious, because he seemed to be.
I didn't so much feel sleepy as I rested against him, but I slowly, I felt more at peace.
I felt my whole body seemingly disappear from the stresses of the world. I sighed through my nose as I allowed myself to take in the feeling of peace. It had been a while since I felt so comfortable and peaceful.
Alex seemed to pull me closer and sighed against my hair. I almost didn't notice the sudden explosion in the air.
At first it seemed very distant, but Alex nudged me softly, "Umm..." he was definitely blushing now when I looked at him, "look, fireworks..." he said gesturing upwards.
My eyes followed his gesture and I smiled when I saw the seemingly millions of colours exploded over the top of each other in the sky. Everybod stopped to look at them. Looked like someone had gotten a lot of them, or quite a few people were following the trend of letting off fireworks. There were several people on different rooftops all across the city by the looks of it.
My favourite one was a pinkie purple colour, it was somewhere in the middle of that, but it reminded me a cupcake frosting.
One of my hands remained entangled in Alex's as I smiled and looked to the fireworks. At first I didn't notice this until he tightened his grip on my hand quickly before loosening. I almost jumped, and would've pulled away, but he wouldn't let me.

Alex POV:I was very into this game.
After the party had started to calm down, Katie came back to my room.
She was still in her dress, but she had ditched the shoes.
I had basically made a small set up I normally made for my friends... my male friends. Which consisted of several bowls of different things, like popcorn, chips and a couple of cans of different drinks. Like fizzy drinks mainly, too much alcohol on the roof.
I had coaxed Katie into playing a game, I liked watching her attempt to play because she didn't seem to figure out how to control everything at first. It was a video game that had some times where you raced cars, she kept crashing several times. But when she started getting the hang of it... this got really intense.
