Katie POV:
I looked over to Booker, his lack of demanding for my hand in a dance intrigued me slightly and I accepted his offer. He smiled, winked at the others, and twirled me around before tugging me over to where all the dancing was being conducted.
"Hi," he said.
I smiled, "Hey..."
I felt a little awkward dancing with Booker, I couldn't quite put my finger on why though. Maybe it was the height difference possibly. I could've been wrong though. While the awkwardness still lingered, it didn't bother me for long as Booker slowly embraced me. I felt a surge of warmth run through me that was such a comfort to me it was almost just overwhelming.
"You're silly cat has made a home out of my apartment," he informed resting his chin on the top of my head, entirely because he could.
"Is that so?" I asked. "Yep. Adam is calling it Kit-Kat," he informed. "But I already know you have a name for it. What was that again?"
I could feel Booker's heartbeat softly throbbing in his chest, and I was momentarily lost in the warmth I almost didn't answer his question. "I named her Kitty."
I felt his chest vibrate with a chuckle. "I know, I'm very original," I stated looking up to him.
The author was all smiles as he readjusted a small lock of hair that rested on my cheek. "Originality is a hard thing to come by these days." His fingernail ran across my cheek delicately, "certainly glad some people still have it."
I couldn't help but blush at his statement and his touch as the two of us continued to sway slightly. Soon, Adam and Penny started squealing in delight. Looking up, everybody's attention was stuck on some fireworks in the sky. It was a spasm of colours and an explosion of pure excellence that stopped the dance between us. Everybody on the rooftop smiled as the fireworks continued to blaze in the otherwise navy sky.
I leaned some of my weight against Booker's side and soon felt his arm wrap around my back and his hand rest on my hip. I softly snuggled against him as I watched the writer's son and his friend continue to squeal with delight at the fireworks.

Booker's POV:
A couple of nights had passed since the rooftop party, and since then Katie and I had been hanging out most nights in each other's apartments. Oddly enough, sometimes we didn't talk, she might read and I might be writing. We might be sitting next to each other just engrossed in what we were doing.
Tonight wasn't too much different.
Adam had gone over to the hospital for Penny's birthday sleepover bash. The hospital didn't originally allow sleepovers for sick children, but as part of a new programme they decided to allow a few of Penny's friends to stay the night.
So Katie appeared to be hanging out over here for a majority of the night.
Looking at the time on my laptop it was almost ten o'clock at night.
I looked over to my bed, which is where Katie was lying. She had a book resting on her stomach, sometimes she lifted it up to balance it on her hands, and other times she was sitting on the floor leaning on the wall reading.
"What you reading?" I asked as I looked back to my writing.
She looked to me and back to the book, "The Tempest," she replied as she closed the book. "Good read, but..." she stood up and quickly sat on my lap to look at my story. "What are you writing?" she asked.
She had certainly got a whole lot closer to me since the rooftop party. And I must admit, I enjoy her company. It had been a while since I had had a personal relationship with someone. It was comforting to have Katie around.
But her constantly sitting on my lap when I'm trying to write was getting a bit tedious.
"I'm still writing Rooftop Raiders." I rested my chin on her shoulder so I could still see the screen and started writing around her. She seemed to read my words as I wrote them, and silently did so. Her body heat was a new experience for me while I was writing. I wasn't use to someone sitting on me when I write.
"What part is this?" she asked as she leaned forwards to stop me from writing anymore while she caught up.
"Some romance scene, can I get back to it?" I asked.
She scoffed, "like you can write a romance scene."
"I'm a writer, I'm able to."
"How about I help you out?" she said grabbing the laptop and placing it on her own lap.
"Like you'd know how to properly write," I said grabbing the laptop off her lap and putting it back on my desk.
"I bet I know more than you," she teased.
I raised an eye brow. "Is that so?" I asked somewhat laughing. "You think you know more romance me than me?"
She giggled as she tapped my nose, "Why wouldn't I?"
I smirked as I wrapped my arms around her waist and held her a little tighter so she would come closer. "Alright then," I said, "Here's some romance for you."
I leaned closer to her and started whispering some basic writing 101 romance scenarios to her. My whispers tickled her ears, and what originally started off a joke got me a little carried away when Katie's chuckles fell silent and she occasionally started squirming.

Katie POV:
I was kind of lost in his whispering words.
His actual whispering made me shiver, his lips spoke of almost body draining feelings that caused me to occasionally readjust myself.
But his words suddenly changed into physical as I felt his lips press just below my ear, making my skin tingle and a gasp escape my lips. His hands prevented me from getting up or running away from this. Bringing his words to life he trailed his kisses down my neck and across my collarbone.
I bit my lower lips to try not to make any noise.
My body went into a moment of a numbing bliss as Booker picked me up and laid me down. He leaned over the top of my as he kissed my lips. I had never actually been kissed by Booker, and the result was a very velvety. I was momentarily lost.
Booker eventually pulled away, both of us being a moment of small puffs. "I may be good with words. How do you reckon I come up with them?" He kissed me again before I could make a guess.
