Katie POV:
"Well... Isaac asked me first so..." I took his hand, he gave me a confident smirk as he gave me a proper yank forwards and I fell against his chest, not violently or awkwardly, but I did fall against him, making everybody laugh.
When I managed to stand he gave me a little twirl and escorted me to the area for dancing. The whole situation was a blush-worthy movement. I had never really slow danced with anybody before, I knew how to, but I had never felt really self-conscious before.
In an attempt to hide my odd embarrassment I pressed my head against his shoulder. I felt his chest vibrate slightly when he chuckled.
Opening my eyes, I saw Cassidy and Liam dancing, the Merlins were even whispering to one another and throwing in a kiss every now and then, and I watched Adam and little Penny attempting to slow dancing, but laughing at how silly each were being. I brought a smile to my lips to watch.
"Having fun?" Isaac asked.
I pulled away slightly and nodded, "yeah... I'm having fun."
Isaac seemed to be blushing slightly, "what's with you?" he asked suddenly.
I jumped, "what?"
"You're staring at me," he informed.
"You're staring at me," I retaliated.
He smiled as his hand on my hip pinched me lightly, making me yelp in surprise and giggles. "What else is there to look at?" he asked, the one hand holding mine detached itself from my hand and held onto my other hip. A new form of blushing fell over me as my other hand held onto his other shoulder, and each of us managed to get that much closer, making our body heat literally reflect each other.
I leaned my head on his chest and allowed myself to be swept away from the music and the warm heat of Isaac's body and the rhythm of his steady heartbeat. "This is nice..." I accidently breathed aloud.
Isaac didn't seem to react for a moment at my words as we swayed with one another, but his grip slowly got tighter and tighter around me, pulling me a little closer and closer.
I felt very warm in that moment.
Very safe oddly enough.
I had felt safe with everybody's presence on their own, but... feeling the embrace was a form of security I hadn't felt in a long time.
Isaac softly spoke, "you do look nice," he complimented. "Didn't think blue was your colour."
"Is that so? What's my colour than?" I asked.
I felt him shrug, "I dunno, purple? Pink maybe."
I rolled my eyes, "didn't know you were a monkey suit person," I replied.
He shrugged again, "tonight was a special night, in more than one way." He pulled away slightly so I could look up at his face, "I'm glad I could be your first dance. Disappointing you couldn't have a proper formal," he said.
"This is definitely better," I replied smiling.
"Still wish you were dancing with Martian."
I scoffed slightly, "Uhh, it was Marvin, and no, I don't wish that at all," I confessed.
Isaac nodded, "good." He suddenly became very much closer to me, and he practically crushed his lips against mine. I let off a grunt of surprise at feeling his lips upon mine, one of his hands laced in my hair while the other kept me in place as if I was trying to flee. His kiss was warm but gave me no time to take it in before it was done.
