I could smell rotting pumpkins and mud in the air, it was a fresh smell as the Jack-O-lanterns were put past their expiration date. Halloween was coming up, the night where the dead rise, the witches cackle and cast their spells and the werewolves can roam among humans without being noticed. As I rolled my bike beside me, Adam told me how excited he was to go Trick or Treating. He told me of stories from previous years when he went as a ghost, a mummy, and a ghoul. But what amused me the most were the descriptions of Booker as Albert Einstein, a wizard and man with an arrow through his head. I never pictured Booker the Halloween type.
I knew Andy was, and I was glad he wasn't dwelling on Booker and his Mum... I felt very sorry for their situation.
When we approached the apartment it was full of the Halloween spirit. Cobwebs clung to the corners or the doorway, spiders were scattered all about with blood on the walls, and a mini graveyard in the dirt out the front.
I wondered how many aneurism Andy had to put this stuff up.
Adam and I had barely managed to get in the lobby when Cassidy came squealing for me and kidnapped me up to her apartment.
I stared at a dummy before me, she had made both my and Erin's costumes in exchange for two thing, one; $20 each, two; he got to decided how showy it was.
I gulped when I saw my costume and stared at Cassidy, "umm... I think it looks better on a dummy then it would on me," I informed blushing at the idea.
She laughed, "well, it's a little too late for you to change your mind sweetie."

"Come on Katie," Cassidy yelled from the other side of my door.
"But Cassidy... this looks silly!" I called back.
Cassidy laughed as she knocked on the door for me to open it up, "you look sexy, come on, come out," she practically begged.
I was blushing terribly even though nobody had seen me yet... well... Isaac had. He had peeked earlier through my balcony.
I slowly pushed the door open and peeked my head out. Since I was a brunette Cassidy put streaks of blonde through my hair and a large black bow on my headband. "Come on," Cassidy urged. I slowly made my way forwards until I was out the door. She didn't tell me Liam and Alex and everyone else would be there!
I blushed cherry red then as I attempted to come back into my apartment.
Cassidy, of course, didn't let me.
I was wearing a skirt was blue with a white apron but had specks of fake blood on it. I was practically wearing a corset, dirty white gloves and black and white striped stockings with black shoes. I looked like I had murdered someone. Liam took a quick photo and had a smile.
"Oh! I forgot the knife," Cassidy informed pulling one from her pocket and stuffing it in the strap of the apron. It was a very fancy knife, and took me a moment to realise it was real!
"Who did you stab?" I asked shocked by the 'blood' on it.
She laughed, "nobody sweetie, it's just easier to carve in a real knife."
I was still worried.
"Gotta admit, I think you should be called Dirty Alice then Bloody Alice," Liam stated whistling. I made me blush but I merely walked closer to him and pinched at his shirt.
"Will you be my White Rabbit then?" I asked seductively.
He smirked and shook his head, "As much as I love the idea of you patting my fluffy white tail, I'm partners in crime with Cassidy," he informed.
