TIMESKIP 1 MONTH...

"Who's supposed to be my mom?"

"Well, the actress we had in mind had to back out due to her health, but we found someone willing to play the part."

Minju sipped her coffee as she listened to the director alongside her co-workers, listening intently to their words.

"You all should know her, she's famous in this industry. Her name is Lee Ranhee."

The angel choked on her drink, barely keeping herself from spewing the contents all over the director.

"Woah, Minju-yah you okay?"

"Y-yeah I'm fine unnie."

The actress gave her manager a smile, mumbling an apology to the person talking.

"Yes, Lee Ranhee will be substituting as your character's mother for this drama."

Many of the people in the room awed, seeing the veteran actress as a heroic figure.

"Waa, that's so cool~"

"She's working with us? That's amazing..."

"Minju, are you excited?"

The said girl forced a smile, "yes of course... It'd be a pleasure working with her."

It's been three months since Minju last talked to, let alone saw, Chaewon... It pained her everytime she saw a notification pop up from the older girl. It went from every day, sometimes every hour, to every week... To nothing at all. But she felt as though she did what she had to do, she'd only bring more pain to the college sophomore if she got closer to her.

And now she's somehow supposed to work with Chaewon's mom...

'Thanks a lot, Universe...'

"We'll start shooting in a few days, Lee Ranhee will be here in two days time."

"Nae~"

Minju sighed as she went out of earshot from everyone else, staring at the script she got at the end of the meeting as she skimmed through the scenes.

She let out a scoff as she saw that the mother was supposed to be kind and supportive, muttering slowly to herself.

"She's a good actress alright if she can pull this off well..."

Minju sighed, heading out for some fresh air as she rolled up the script...

~ ~ ~

Veteran Actress Lee Ranhee to co-star with Kim Minju in an upcoming drama.

"What the fuck."

"Language, Chaewon."

"What the hell."

"Chaewon."

The caramel-haired girl showed her phone screen to Eunbi as they got ready to go home, "what the heck."

The older woman's eyes widened as she read the title of the article, "woah... She hasn't been in these kinds of dramas in a while..."

Chaewon's eyes were glued to the phone all the way to Eunbi's car, her mouth hanging open as she read the article.

"When and where does it air? I'll make sure the cafe's TV isn't on that channel when it does."

"It's... fine... Yeah, it's okay."

Eunbi worriedly stared at Chaewon as they both entered her car, the younger girl feeling a blurry mixture of emotions as she stared at the picture of Minju next to a picture of her mom.

"I um... I told her that your mom's... an actress. That's the day she stopped talking to you I think."

"Ah."

"She asked, and when she heard she was shocked, a little confused as well."

She felt a twinge of betrayal from Minju, but then again, could she have known? It wasn't as if Minju had a choice on whether or not she could act with a certain person right?

But...

Why should Minju care either way?

'And why should I care? It's not like we're friends.'

Chaewon put her phone away, sliding more down into the passenger seat with a huff, "whatever, it's not like I care what either of them do."

"Chaewon-ah..."

"Just drive unnie."

As soon as the words left her mouth, Chaewon felt guilt seep into her skin, and from the corner of her eye she saw Eunbi nod as she started the car. The ride was deathly silent, but as Chaewon saw their neighborhood in the distance, she sat up straight, glancing over to the older woman.

"Sorry Eunbi-unnie, I just... I don't know what to feel right now."

"It's fine Chaewon-ah, take all the time you need."

Eunbi parked at her driveway, the two girls exiting the car. They began to walk to the house next to Eunbi's, who had the living room light still on.

"Just know that I'm always here for you okay? I know you didn't mean to be rude."

Chaewon turned around as they arrived at the front door, giving Eunbi a weak smile, "thanks unnie... And you really don't need to walk me to my door, we're literally neighbors."

At that the raven-haired woman chuckled, "I want to make sure you arrive at your doorstep safely, whether or not we live right next to each other."

The two exchanged hugs, waving goodnight as Eunbi began to head back to her own home.

Chaewon sighed one last time before unlocking the front door, slipping off her shoes as she went inside.

"Appa, I'm home."

"Chaewon! How's my little fairy's day been?"

A smile came back onto the girl's face as her father came into view, letting the man ruffle her hair as if she was a small child.

"Good~ I hope your day was okay too."

Her dad smiled, "just got better knowing that my Chaewon-ah made it home safely."

The radish looked around, seeing that her dad was in the middle of cleaning, "did someone visit?"

"Ah well..."

The man laughed weakly, "I met up with someone today... You know that woman I was talking about?"

The college student nodded, "yeah, I remember you talking about her."

"She came over to talk, I hope you don't mind?"

"Is she nice?"

"Yes."

"Does she make you happy?"

"Yes, she does."

Chaewon smiled, "then of course I don't mind."

Her father returned the smile with a grin of his own, "you'll always be the best in my eyes, Chaewon."

"Thanks appa..."

"Now go sleep, you must be tired."

Chaewon chuckled, "I will, and you too appa. Goodnight~"

"Sleep well, Chaewon-ah."

The girl closed her bedroom door, dropping her stuff off next to her desk as she flopped onto her bed. She rolled onto her back, sighing as she stared at the ceiling.

She didn't realize how far she'd fallen... Not until she saw that article.

She was kidding herself whenever she told Eunbi she stopped thinking about Minju...

That angel flew through her head everyday.
