The Liar (ON HOLD)

Chapter 31

Jay

Zane took the chip from Energy and pulled out a remote from his pocket.

Energy looked at him in surprise. "What the-?" He asked.

"You'd be surprised how many times a remote control comes in handy on a mission." Zane stated.

Energy zipped his mouth shut and turned away for effect.

Jay snorted, "Ok, so when do they leave?" He asked with his classic grin. He was anxious for Water...or Nya. He'd known Water was Nya for quite a while now. Jay could recognize her eyes and figure anywhere.

Lloyd sighed, "Be ready by first light. Meet here and then we'll leave. I'll let Earth know the schedule." Lloyd replied as he looked at Nya and Ice.

Nya nodded, "Ok, see you guys tomorrow." She declared as she turned to walk away.

Jay slapped himself and the ran after her, noticing the looks that Ice and Energy gave him. "Water wait up!" Jay shouted as he finally caught up to her. He slowed to a walk beside her and fell silent. 

Nya looked at him and smiled, "Walking the damsel home, eh?" Nya joked.

Jay laughed, "Oh you wish. I know full well that you can take care of yourself." Jay stated in answer. Then he frowned and looked away.

Nya apparently noticed and grabbed his hand. Jay blushed and squeezed her hand in return.

"I'll be fine you know that right?" Nya asked him.

Jay smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah...Listen, I know I'm probably just overthinking but I'm really worried that you'll get hurt, and if that happens, I know I won't be able to help. On top of that there's only you, Ice, and Earth going down there, and we know that Alptraum is really strong and has a lot of allies and what if-" Jay was cut off when Nya put a finger to his lips and pulled off her mask. 

"I'll be ok. I promise. Ok?" Nya stated confidently. She smiled at Jay which made his heart flutter. 

Jay nodded and wanted to punch himself for worrying so much.

"Do me a favor? Look after my brother when I'm gone..." Nya asked.

Jay nodded with a smile. "Course." Jay replied.

Nya smiled and kissed his cheek. "I better get going...I'll see you tomorrow I guess." Nya said as she let go of Jay's hand and walked away.

Jay looked after her wistfully, not wanting her to go...but he knew it was necessary. "Love you." He whispered after she was too far to hear.

This chapter was SUPER short. I'm probably going to post another one today so yeah. I wanted to fit this scene in here, but there was no way I could make it into the usual length of my chapters, so I just made a mini one. <3 bye (;
