Chapter 42

Sorry for the wait...I mean...at least I came up with something for the chapter. Considering my lack of motivation and writer's block I'm glad I was able to actually write this chapter instead of just skim through the moment with pointless information. (TwT)

Jay

Jay groaned as he cracked his eyes open. It was dark...that couldn't be normal. Then the reality that Jay was blindfolded hit him. 

Jay chuckled nervously at his stupidity.

Jay and Cole had expected this 'mission' to go wrong; of course, it was an ambush. Like who would fall for a classic trick like that? ...apparently they would.

Jay tried to stand up from his current position in a chair, only to find he was tied to the chair. His feet were securely fastened to the legs of the chair while his hands were tied behind him. 

Jay heard movement and a groan come from somewhere to his left. 

"Guys are you here?" Jay asked aloud.

"Mmm, Jay?" A voice slurred.

"Yes, Lloyd. It is I, the great Lightening Ninja." Jay stated with an annoyed expression plastered on his face. Even though Lloyd probably couldn't see him, his voice said everything.

"Is everyone here?" Zane asked from the left of Jay. His voice was a bit farther than Lloyd's so Jay assumed they were all lined up.

"Here." Cole groaned from Jay's right. 

"Why can't I see anything?" Nya asked from father to Jay's left. She was the farthest away from them, so Jay took that as an indication that Nya was at the end of the line.

Cole sighed, "Well nice to know I was right about Kai." He commented.

Everyone fell into a guilty silence of not believing the two ninjas.

"I'm sorry Jay. I should've believed you...I wanted to believe it was Kai so bad...I just found him...I don't want to lose him again." Nya apologized. Her voice was heavy and sad as if she was crying.

Jay heard a sniff. "Nya...I don't blame you. I would've reacted the same way." Jay said reassuringly.

Cole grunted. "These are venge stone chains." Cole muttered. "How did we get out of these last time?" He asked curiously.

"Wait...am I the only one that's blindfolded?" Jay asked urgently.

"Nope. I can't see a thing." Cole answered.

"Same here." Nya stated.

"For your information Cole, I can't seem to remember how we got out." Zane stated. 

"Ugh. Great! Now we're stuck here! We can't see a thing. Kai's currently Alptraum's puppet, and the rest of the citizens have probably been captured." Jay declared.

"Ok, how about we all try to calm down?" Lloyd proposed gently.

"Yeah, let's try to stay positive while people could be DYING! GREAT IDEA LLOYD!" Cole shouted.

Jay winced and he was pretty sure the others did as well.

"How about we all list one thing we regret?" Jay asked. 

Everyone fell silent.

"Jay, when did you get dark?" Nya asked.

Cole and Lloyd snorted and that caused everyone to start laughing.

"If I regret something it would be that I didn't pay enough attention to my surroundings. We probably could've avoided this if I was more observant." Zane stated.
