Lloyd

The moment Lloyd walked into school on Friday he was seized. Quite literally. Someone had wrapped a sack over his head and dragged him into a dark room, at least it was dark from his perspective. Go figure.

Underneath the sack Lloyd managed to hear whispering, though he couldn't understand what the person was saying. All he managed to hear was something about waiting. "Oh god it's happening, my first kidnapping. I really thought it'd be different." Lloyd thought with a sigh. It was such a sloppy kidnapping considering he could easily break the ropes that bound him to the chair he was sitting on. If he was being honest, he was kind of anxious for the kidnapper to reveal himself/herself. He laughed despite himself, then he felt a punch to the stomach, and he groaned.

"What's so funny rat?" The voice asked.

Lloyd didn't recognize the voice itself, but he knew that punch anywhere. "Water ninja?" Lloyd asked.

"Oh, so you know the water ninja, do you?" The voice asked again while ripping the sack off Lloyd's head. Lloyd struggled to keep a straight face. "Tell me what you know about the ninja." The man/woman asked. Lloyd still couldn't tell if it was a girl or a guy.

"Um well, they kind of save Ninjago all the time. The fire ninja is this cocky no-good weirdo, the lightening ninja is an electric comedian, the earth ninja is the brawn and bear, the Ice ninja is the brains, the water ninja is this independent chick who I don't know much about, and the green ninja is the greatest out of all of them, like he is definitely the best." Lloyd answered with a grin. He couldn't resist the urge to brag about himself. "Oh god I'm turning into fire." He thought with a chuckle. "Man, that guy is really rubbing off on me." Lloyd's thoughts added.

The person moved ever so slightly. "What do you know about Kai Smith?" The man/woman asked.

Lloyd scrunched his eyebrows. "Now why the actual fuck do you want to know about Kai Smith?" Lloyd asked with a glare. He could tell that the kidnapper wasn't very comfortable. "Good, he fears me." One part of Lloyd's thoughts muttered. "Nah, he's probably just bored to death on how cringy and pathetic you are." The other part of him said. Lloyd sighed, "You know what? Fine. I'll tell you all I know about Kai Smith, but if I do you have to reveal your face." Lloyd proposed.

The kidnapper sighed and nodded. "Very well." He/she replied. Lloyd blinked in shock, "Wow they actually agreed." Lloyd thought again. He quickly sat up straight and smiled. "Kai Smith is a classmate of mine. He's probably the most introverted out of all the students in a way. He hides all emotions except for anger and indifference. He treats everyone equally and without access to his thoughts. I've talked to the guy a few times, but it was pretty obvious he didn't want to talk so I'd leave him alone. He has no friends that I know of, and I have no clue where he lives or what he does outside of school. There that's all I know." Lloyd stated blankly.

The kidnapper sat there for a minute and nodded. "Very well. I believe you."

"Wow, you are not what I was expecting a kidnapper to be like." Lloyd said.

"What can I say? I'm a one of a kind." The kidnapper answered with a smug look.

"Your face." Lloyd said.

"Excuse me?" The kidnapper asked him, his confidence disappearing.

"You told me I could see your face. Show me." Lloyd replied.

The kidnapper sighed and pulled off his mask. Lloyd stared in shock. "Nya?" Lloyd asked.

Nya burst out laughing as she dropped the mask on the floor and Pixal came out of the shadows. "You should've seen your face." Nya cracked, then she straightened and took a deep breath. "Happy April fools, Lloyd." Nya added.

Lloyd frowned, "Ha ha very funny." He answered sarcastically. Nya smiled.

"I need your help." Nya said after a minute.

*                          *                         *                         *                           *

"Whoa whoa whoa, pause. Kai Smith is your biological brother?" Lloyd exclaimed. Nya nodded with a blank expression. "And you want me to talk to him and to ask him to hang with us over lunch?" Lloyd added.

Pixal stared at Lloyd, her eye contact not wavering. "Listen Lloyd. You know him better than we do. You've actually had some experience talking to him; we need to reach out to him. That's the only way Nya will ever be reunited with him in a sibling relationship kind of way." Pixal explained.

Lloyd sighed, "I know that, but it's going to be hard to talk to him. Much less get him to hang with us over lunch." Lloyd answered her.

"If we can get him comfortable with us by being consistent and inviting him to hang with us every lunch break after third period then maybe he'll soften towards us." Nya began, "I may have been separated from Kai, but I can tell you that he wasn't always like this. He was kind and funny and really caring and protective. I would never have survived the orphanage if it wasn't for Kai. Something had to have happened to him if he has changed so much, and I know for a fact that if we don't do something to help than he will never soften himself. Like he could be suicidal for all we know!" Nya added with anxiety written on her face. Lloyd could tell that she was really worried about Kai. I mean, they had always been worried about Kai's well-being considering he's so mean to everyone...but now Nya had a solid reason to actually worry.

Lloyd put a hand on Nya's shoulder. "Hey, it's going to be fine. We'll get to him." Lloyd said, trying to reassure her.

Nya smiled gratefully and gave Lloyd a quick hug. "Thanks Lloyd, you're a good friend." Nya said.

Pixal glanced at her watch and stood up. "Guys we're ten minutes past. Our teachers are going to be angry." Pixal said as she picked up her pack.

Nya quickly rushed over to the wall and swung her backpack over her shoulder, grabbing Pixal's arm in the process. "See you later Lloyd!" Nya shouted as she ran out of the room, dragging Pixal with her.

Lloyd chuckled, "I'm never going to understand girls." Lloyd muttered. Lloyd stood up and started to walk but tripped. He looked down and sighed. He had forgotten to untie his feet from the chair. "Fuck." Lloyd swore under his breath. "I need to start paying more attention." He added. Lloyd quickly undid the rope and picked up his backpack from beside him.

Lloyd quietly walked out of the room to face an empty hall. Lloyd smiled and walked towards his classroom. "Be prepared Kai, cause I'm not taking no for an answer." Lloyd muttered under his breath.

Well, this was a bit of a "different" chapter. Just to clarify, Skylor does not exist in this universe...well, she does but she doesn't know Nya or Kai or anybody. Let's just say she doesn't have a role in this book. Nya and Pixal are best friends, Cole and Jay are best friends, Kai is...well you know, and Zane is friends with Nya and Pixal. Lloyd and Zane are kinda close, but I wouldn't say that they're best friends. Anyways happy Good Friday, I guess? Dunno if you celebrate that or no.
