Lloyd

Lloyd slowly walked into the check-in where he would be able to see how Kai was doing. The ninja had been gone for a solid thirteen hours and Lloyd was starting to get a little worried. Usually, they wouldn't go this long without giving them some sort of sign that they were alive.

Kai had been transferred from Cole's house to the hospital at around nine in the morning. Lou, Cole's dad, had driven him.

Lloyd knew Kai must be kind of bored, so he decided to pay a quick visit. Lloyd walked to the counter and asked for Kai's room number which he quickly received. Lloyd walked down a long hallway and soon arrived at Kai's supposed room.

Lloyd quietly peeked open the door to see Kai sitting up in his bed and drawing.

"Hey Kai!" Lloyd greeted with a grin.

"Oh...hey Lloyd." Kai replied as he looked up from his sketchbook.

"Watcha drawing?" Lloyd asked.

"Nothing!" Kai exclaimed as he blushed.

Lloyd narrowed his eyes and smirked, "Someone's got a secret." Lloyd stated.

Kai rolled his eyes as the blush began to fade. "It's no secret. I just don't feel like sharing my art." Kai answered with a light shrug.

Lloyd chuckled and walked into the room. "Fair enough." Lloyd stated.

Kai smiled. "So, what's up? Are the others back yet?" Kai asked curiously.

Lloyd frowned, "No..." Lloyd muttered.

Lloyd saw worry flicker in Kai's eyes, but Kai quickly hid it.

"Something's wrong...am I the only one who thinks that?" Kai asked.

Lloyd shook his head, "I've been having the same thought." Lloyd replied.

Just then the door opened, and Lloyd turned to see who it was.

No one was there.

"Kai...?" Lloyd asked uncertainly.

Just then Lloyd was dragged away.

"Lloy-" Kai began yelling. However, his voice was cut off when the door slammed shut.

Lloyd groaned as he kept slamming into walls and furniture. The emergency lights were on, and the place looked deserted from what Lloyd could make out.

"OW!" Lloyd yelled when his side hit the corner of a wall. "That was going to leave a mark." Lloyd thought bitterly.

Suddenly whatever was dragging him let him go.

"At least I'm still in the hospital?" Lloyd thought out loud.

Just then the power went off, which left Lloyd alone... in the dark... with no idea where he was or where he was going...

"Great...just great!" Lloyd shouted.

Lloyd felt around until he located a wall to his right. He slowly began making his way forward in order to maybe find an opening to another room. Just then he realized his mistake.

"DaYmMmm iiTtT!" Lloyd cried as he went toppling down a set of stairs.

Lloyd groaned when he finally reached the bottom. His head hurt and he was seeing spots. His back ached and he couldn't feel his left arm.

"I'm totally fine!" Lloyd muttered sarcastically.

Lloyd stood up and started making his way back up the stairs. He hadn't been dragged up any stairs so that wasn't the right way.

Lloyd heard a faint beeping and quickly pulled his comm out of his pocket.

"Guys?! Are you there?!" Lloyd asked excitedly.

"Yes, we're here, but we need you to find Kai and fast!" Earth shouted.

"I was just with him, why?" Lloyd asked.

The comm started breaking up.

"Alptr *crack* m is af *buzz* Kai!" Cole yelled. Just then the comm died.

Lloyd froze, but quickly stuffed the comm in his pocket. He felt for the wall again and tried to find a way out, but this time he picked up his pace. He went as fast as he could while he limped across the room.

"Kai!" Lloyd yelled. "KAI! If you can hear me. Get out of here! NOW!" Lloyd added.

Eventually Lloyd found the way out of the room, and he found himself in a place he recognized. The windows in there provided light which was fortunate due to the fact that now Lloyd didn't have to feel the walls to find a way out.

Lloyd ran through the hall to come upon the main room which then he took a sharp right which led him down the hallway Kai's room was located. It was hard to see, but not impossible.

Lloyd broke down Kai's door and stood there facing an empty bed and signs of struggle all across the room.

Kai was gone.

"Damn it. Damn it. Damn it!" Lloyd yelled as he punched the wall.

*                 *                    *                     *                     *

Lloyd rushed out of the hospital as he cradled his arm. It was dislocated from what Lloyd could tell.

A vehicle that Lloyd recognized sped up and stopped in front of him. The ninja jumped out and rushed over.

"Where's Kai?" Cole asked. Cole's mask was off, and Lloyd was surprised for a second before he put it aside. There were more important things to worry about.

Lloyd shook his head. "I'm sorry...I got there as fast as I could." Lloyd answered as he looked down.

Cole growled. "Fuck." He muttered.

Lloyd scanned them over and realized they were in no better of a position than he was. Cole had cuts and bruises everywhere he could see. Zane looked drowsy and there was a lump on his head. Nya looked shaken up and there were marks around her wrists and ankles, otherwise she was fine.

"Nya!" Jay shouted as he rushed over and wrapped his arms around her. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Jay asked frantically.

Nya shook her head, "I'm fine." Nya stated as she pecked Jay on the cheek as reassurance.

Zane's eyes were downcast.

"Zane, what's happening?" Lloyd asked. He was confused to why everyone had just revealed their identities, but he decided to just focus on what was happening at the moment.

Zane sighed. "To put it short...Kai is the only one who can tip the scales in this fight. He's the only one who can defeat Alptraum. Alptraum plans to get Kai on his side somehow, we have to get Kai back before Alptraum does anything to him." Zane explained.

Lloyd shook his head in disbelief.

"I know, it sounds crazy, but we don't have time for questions. The city is under attack by the shadows...people are disappearing left and right. We have to find Kai!" Nya stated.

Lloyd could clearly see that she was stressed. Ninjago was at stake and so was her brother, whom she had just been reunited with.

"Let's go." Cole stated.

Lloyd glanced at him and nodded.

"Let's find Kai." Lloyd agreed

What a way to wrap up a chapter. I wanted to say thank you for your guys' support and nice comments. I doubt I would've had motivation to finish this book without it. So, thank you!
