Mingyu glared at the neatly pressed suit hanging on his bathroom door. It was a dark gray with a white dress shirt and dark red tie to go with it.  It was sitting there, just waiting to suffocate him with its proper appeal and buttons that made everything too tight.

He was supposed to be putting it on because Chairman Kim was expecting him to look his best as his right-hand man who's training to become the next CEO. Mingyu wanted nothing to do with the company. It would become the center of his life, and he'd have no time for anything else. He had at least learned that much from his own father.

Mingyu was jealous of Jisoo. He'd been brought along by his mother into the company when she married Chairman Kim. Jisoo doesn't get to inherit the full-time job of running it because he wasn't born into it. Instead, he gets some money and his choice of what he wants to do with his life.

With a noise that could be considered a groan but isn't, Mingyu reluctantly put the suit on.

"I was wondering if you'd died," someone said when Mingyu stepped out of the bathroom into his bedroom. Mingyu made an annoyed noise then took in account that he wasn't the only one formerly dressed in the room. Seungchol was standing next to the window across from Mingyu's bed wearing a suit similar to Mingyu's but only black instead of gray with a blue tie instead of red.

"What are you doing in here?" Mingyu asked.  "Actually, what are you even doing here?" They hadn't seen each other since the night Mingyu acted drunk, but they'd texted about the outcome of that night a few days later.

"I've been given the luxury of skipping school and following around your dad to see how the company runs," Seungchol said in a sarcastic, cheery voice.

Mingyu's mood darkened. Of course. On top of running a company, his family is going to ignore the fact that he has a soulmate and marry him off for their benefit. This was only the first step of their horrid plan.

"Why are you here at the house and not at the company?" Mingyu asked. He moved to grab his phone off the nightstand and slipped it into a pocket on the inside of his jacket.

"I was sent to pick you up," the other male said. "Apparently, your driver is MIA for the day." They both knew that wasn't actually the case.

Mingyu smiled tightly. "This isn't going to end well."

Seungchol didn't have to say anything for Mingyu to know that he agreed.

The first thing Mingyu did when they finished was unbutton the first couple of buttons on his suit. The day was spent listening to people talk while Seungchol stood in the background, observing. The day was only somewhat bearable because the older male was there.

He'd already forgotten most of what he was supposed to have learned. It was a lot to take in. He felt like kicking a wall when he remembered that he'd have to go through this on multiple occasions in the next couple of months. This was only because he'd be graduating soon.

To hell with graduation. If he failed this year, would that get him out of this? He threw the thought away as soon as it appeared. That wasn't going to do him any favors.

Something did come out of today, though. Midway through a discussion about sales, a thought came to him. If he were able to change Wonwoo's mind about him and get him to meet Chairman Kim, then things would be a lot better. Mingyu would actually be willing to run the company. No force would be needed.

Maybe that's why Mingyu already forgot a lot of what he learned. He'd spent a lot of time imagining things working out with Wonwoo.

He collapsed on the lobby's couch as he waited for his driver to show up. Seungchol sat down beside him. Mingyu was silently fuming while Seungchol hummed to himself. The turquoise-haired male couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. They both knew what awaited them in their future. They'd given their families hope that things would work out, and now there was no going back unless Mingyu was able to convince Wonwoo to be with him, or Seungchol's own boyfriend was able to get his parents out of the picture. So why did the black-haired male look happy?

Before Mingyu could ask, Seungchol turned to him. "Are you busy tomorrow after school?" he asked.

"I have to meet up with my stepbrother for a couple of hours, but I'm free after that," Mingyu answered. "Why?"

"Because, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend." Seungchol smiled. "He suggested introducing me to one of his friends, and in return, he said I could introduce him to one of my friends. You and his friend will be the first people to know about our relationship."

Mingyu felt honored. "Really? I'd love to meet your soulmate! Do you know who his friend will be?"

Seungchol shrugged. "Not sure. Once I told him I was bringing you, he refused to give me the name of his friend. All I know is he's a guy and they've been friends for years."

After discussing where they'd meet up, they split their separate ways when Mingyu's ride showed up. He leaned against the window, his eyes closed. He let the events of the day fade into the back of his mind. He really didn't feel like thinking anything right at that moment.

Then his phone rang in his pocket. He pulled it out and almost dropped it when he saw Wonwoo's name on the screen. Wonwoo had no reason to call him. They weren't working together on the project anymore, so Wonwoo calling him meant that Wonwoo was just calling because he could. Of course, Wonwoo could just need something, but Mingyu decided that that reason couldn't possibly exist.

"Hi," Mingyu said when he answered the call.

"So I have a question," Wonwoo said after a small pause. His voice seemed a little hesitant.

"What is it?" Mingyu's mood was already brightening.

"It's been bothering me," Wonwoo told him. "Saturday, I know it was your birthday and all, but there was something you said when I said I didn't know what the date was." He cleared his throat. "You had said something in the lines of 'And that's exactly why we're here.' I called because . . . I wanted to know what you meant by that."

Mingyu wanted to laugh and cry at the same. Wonwoo had been thinking about that day, about him. That had to be a sign. The stress of the day was beginning to fade away.

"The whole point of bringing you to the park was so you could get to know me better," Mingyu explained. His voice softened. "I wanted you to get to know me for me, not through the questions you asked for other people's benefit. I also wanted to get to know you better. And I did. You showed me a part of you I didn't even know existed."

Wonwoo didn't answer, but Mingyu could hear he was still there cause of the light breaths emanating from the phone. "Okay?" Mingyu asked. Did he say something wrong? He didn't think he broke any of the rules.

"Okay," Wonwoo mumbled then hung up.

Mingyu pulled the phone away from his ear and smiled at the screen.
