Wonwoo walked him through the steps-which button or knob does what, how to activate the turn signals, what some of the rules are on the road, etc. Mingyu even attempted parking. It was awful, but to his benefit, Wonwoo had said, "We'll work on it."
It was still hard to comprehend that any of this was actually happening. It was like Mingyu was dreaming. Who would have thought Wonwoo would actually like him. He wanted it, but he sure as hell wasn't expecting it to actually happen.
Wonwoo seemed so set on rejecting him. What made him change his mind?
Mingyu wished he knew what Wonwoo had gone through to reach such a point where he doesn't want a soulmate, but he couldn't bring himself to ask. He knew if Wonwoo wanted to share, he would.
"You work at that one noodle place a couple blocks aways from school, don't you?" Wonwoo asked once Mingyu parked in one of the spaces and turned off the car.
"Yeah, I work there with a friend," Mingyu answered.
"But you're rich," the other male said.
Mingyu shrugged. "Any money I earn from the shop goes towards my savings. I don't want to have to rely on my dad for everything," he explained. "I want to feel like I'm actually doing something for it rather than just existing, you know."
Wonwoo nodded, then leaned his head back against the headrest of his seat. The younger watched as he closed his eyes and gave him a little smile. "I like the way you think," he said. "You aren't a stereotypical rich boy."
Mingyu reached over and laced his fingers through Wonwoo's. The elder's eyes opened, his cheeks flushing a deep red. It made Mingyu laugh. Wonwoo held his hand earlier, yet he was flustered when Mingyu did it instead. It was cute.
Wonwoo looked out the window, but he didn't pull his hand away. "I don't know how to do this whole relationship thing," he admitted.
Honestly, Mingyu didn't either. Sure, he's gone on dates with a few girls, but they weren't anything like what he had with Wonwoo. He was going by instinct on this one.
"We can learn together," he said.

Mingyu was back in the office. He was bored and sick of it. He was waiting for an opportunity to run away.
His father was in a meeting currently. It was confidential, so Mingyu was left following around Chairman Kim's secretary, Jesse.
She was chill and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. He learned a lot more about the people rather than the actual job from her, which was okay. He liked her better than the alternative.
Eventually, he was placed at a desk to do paperwork. It was exhausting. This was not the life for him, but he was born into it. He wouldn't be able to get out of it unless Jisoo was willing to step up.
It's not like he was taking over a whole kingdom, but it sure felt like it. It was a lot of responsibility that he didn't want.
"Hey, Mingyu," Jesse said. He looked up from the papers in front of him. "Your father wants you in his office."
"Alright, thanks," he said. He stood up and stretched, catching a glimpse of the window. It was dark. He sighed. Another late night on the job, yet he didn't even work here yet.
Mingyu took the elevator to his father's floor, loosening his tie in the process. There weren't that many people around anymore, and the few that were, were probably too tired to care if he looked professional or not.
"Take a seat," Chairman Kim said when he reached the office. He was pointing to the chair placed directly in front of the desk. He had a laptop in front of him.
His own father reminded Mingyu more of his teacher than as his parent. He did as he was told and took a seat. Chairman Kim turned the computer towards him. It was an announcement about Jihoon and Seungcheol.
They're whole relationship has been exposed to the internet. The picture looked posed, though. They must have agreed to release this article.
"What about them?" Mingyu asked. But as soon as he asked the question, he knew what was coming next.
"Things haven't been going 'well' with Seungcheol, have they?" Chairman Kim said.
Seungcheol was Mingyu's excuse to get out of the house and spend time with Wonwoo. Chairman Kim was so set on setting him up with someone, he didn't even question it. Seungcheol was the first guy, so he must of thought things would work out better than with the girls.
"No. I'm sorry," Mingyu said.
Chairman Kim pulled the computer back towards himself and typed something. He turned it back to Mingyu. It was the other article released a few days ago about him, Seungcheol, and Wonwoo. The older man points to the blurred photo of Wonwoo and Mingyu.
"You've been spending time with him, haven't you?" he asked.
There was no point in lying. "Yes, that's true," Mingyu said.
Chairman Kim snapped the laptop shut and moved it to the side. He rested his arms on the desk and leaned forward. He didn't look mad, just disappointed. "Have you made any progress with this boy?"
"Look, Dad, he doesn't-"
"You have, but he doesn't want anyone to know?"
Mingyu sighed. "Yeah
Chairman Kim nodded in understanding. "Look, I'm okay with you two being together. Afterall, you're soulmates." He seemed to be talking more to himself than to his son. "Why doesn't he want anyone to know?"
"I'm not sure." Mingyu racked his brain for more of an answer. "He doesn't like publicity," is what he settled on. "And I can't blame him. Dating me is bound to make his whole life public."
"Mingyu, it sounds like your boyfriend might be hiding something," his father said.
Mingyu blushed at the word "boyfriend." He was realizing him and Wonwoo haven't actually determined what it is exactly that they are.
"What do you mean hiding something?" he asked, the main point of his father's statement finally settling into his brain.
"I don't know," Chairman Kim said, thinking. "I'd like to meet him."
Mingyu knew he couldn't say no unless things weren't working out. "Let him get comfortable with me first," he said. "Then I'll see what he says."
The old man nodded. "Fine." He waved his hands. "You can leave now. Tell you step mother, I'll be home shortly."
Mingyu stood up, nodded, and left the room. He released the breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
