Wonwoo POV
He couldn't believe that he had been caught. Caught isn't even the right word, more like gave himself away. There was no filter between his brain and his mouth when he was nervous. He had never been that nervous before either. It was clear Mingyu would say yes, no matter how he popped the question, but Wonwoo still wanted it to be special.
Yet, he basically blew it and tried asking in a public bathroom of all places.
Thank God Mingyu was giving him another chance, even though the surprise was pretty much ruined. However, moments like these remind Wonwoo why he wants to pop the question in the first place.
The plan Seokmin and Soonyoung helped come up with was to recreate the first date: the ferris wheel. But it had occurred to him that Mingyu hated heights, so that idea quickly went out the window. He was too stressed about the proposal to remember Mingyu's fear.
So there he was panicking in the bathroom because he wanted to do this thing today, but didn't have a backup plan. And then Mingyu walked in.
Oh well. There would be other moments. For now, he'll just try and forget about the embarrassing bathroom encounter.
He wandered the park in search of the friend who was supposed to help him, but instead found Jeonghan, Joshua, and Chan all sitting at the food court with snow cones.
"Hey, Wonwoo," Chan greeted.
Wonwoo sat beside Chan. "Hey, guys," he'd said dryly. "Wanna share?"
Chan slid his snow cone over without hesitation. "What happened?"
"Did you do it?" Jeonghan added.
Wonwoo eyed all of them but didn't bother with a response. Seokmin or Soonyoung must have told them about the whole thing.
"You didn't do it," Joshua stated. "I kinda figured, seeing as Mingyu hates the ferris wheel."
Chan shot him a look. "What Joshua is trying to ask is, are you okay?"
Wonwoo made a noise that sounded like a sob, but there were no tears. "I was freaking out in the bathroom, he showed up, and I tried to pop the question right then and there," he explained.
The table was silent. Jeonghan pursed his lips, holding back a laugh. "So you did do it?"
A head shake. "No. I didn't actually pop the question. I told him I wanted to and then he said to pretend like the whole conversation never happened."
"So he's giving you another chance?" a new voice said. Seungkwan and Hansol were claiming the last empty bench at the table.
"I guess so." Wonwoo still felt like crying of misery and embarrassment.
"Then think of it this way, you can do something even more romantic than a ferris wheel," Seungkwan said. "You guys have come a long way from where you started. It wouldn't hurt to incorporate that."
The rest of the table nodded in agreement. "I can make a cake for the occasion, even help plan it, if you want," Hansol said. "I've witnessed and been told of plenty of engagements, so I already have a few ideas."
The whole table was looking at Wonwoo, waiting for a response.
"Yeah, okay," he said, still looking defeated.

Mingyu POV
Mingyu felt nervous. He couldn't see where he was going, yet Joshua's hand on the lower part of his back was comforting. He knew Joshua wouldn't let him crash into anything.
