Mingyu liked Mrs. Jeon. He wished they could talk more, but the time to leave came way too quickly. Fifteen minutes felt like five.

One of the biggest differences between the mother and her son, the former was willing to open up to someone she just met.

"Thanks for having me over," he said. "It was nice to meet you."

"You're a wonderful boy," Mrs. Jeon said. "You're perfect for my son. Don't let him tell you otherwise."

Mingyu blushed and Wonwoo made some sort of noise like he wanted to protest but knew he'd get scolded for it.

She enveloped Mingyu into a hug. Quieter, out of earshot of her son, she said, "He's had a rough time, so I'm glad you're here for him. Thank you for opening his eyes."

He didn't know how to respond, so he just smiled and nodded. There were still so many things he needed to learn about his soulmate.

"We really gotta go, Mom," Wonwoo said impatiently.

"Alright, I get it," she responded in a way that reminded Mingyu of Wonwoo. She opened the door and watched them walk out to the car. "Stay out as long as you want!" she yelled.

Wonwoo mumbled something incoherent in response.

In the car, Mingyu sat there thinking about his own mother. Mrs. Jeon reminded him a lot of her. They would have gotten along really well.

"She likes you a lot," the elder said, starting the car and pulling out of the driveway.

"I'm charming," Mingyu said, mostly joking.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes. "What did she say to you during the hug?" he asked.

"Ah, wouldn't you like to know?" Mingyu teased. He got smacked in the arm. "Hey, you shouldn't hit people." That just earned him another smack. He laughed. "She just said something along the lines of 'Thank you for opening his eyes'."

"That was all?"

"Yeah," Mingyu lied. He knew any mention of Wonwoo's "rough time" would bother Wonwoo.

Wonwoo was pretty quiet. Mingyu shifted in his seat, feeling awkward. He made a mental note that lying to Wonwoo was going to be a once in a lifetime thing.

"Did you want to meet my dad?" he asked, breaking the silence. He'd wanted to bring it up since that conversation in his father's office. But he didn't, because he knew Wonwoo wasn't fond of the idea, even from the start.

"Maybe," the elder said. "But not tonight."

That was better than him flat out saying no. "You don't need to feel obligated to," Mingyu said. "I mean, we're soulmates, but it's not like we're dating." He wanted to take it back as soon as he said it. It sounded like he was trying to guilt trip Wonwoo and that wasn't his intention at all.

Wonwoo pulled up to the curb where Mingyu insists he drop him off at. "I'll think about it," he said.

Mingyu nodded and climbed out of the car. "I wanted to-," he started to say but stopped. Wonwoo had climbed out of the car and was standing a couple of feet away from him."What are you doing?"

Wonwoo cleared his throat. "I wanted to ask . . . if you would be my boyfriend," he said quietly."

Mingyu was at a loss of words for a moment, taking in what had just been said. He really wasn't expecting this. Finally, he gave a toothy grin and enveloped the other in a hug. Wonwoo hesitantly wrapped his own arms around Mingyu's waist.

What Mingyu really wanted to do was kiss his soulmate, but he decided that he'd let Wonwoo initiate the kiss when he's ready. Right now, Mingyu was perfectly content with this hug.

"Yes, I will be your boyfriend," Mingyu said enthusiastically. The fact that Wonwoo was the one to ask first was amazing in itself. Mingyu had thought about asking, but was afraid of being turned down once again.

Wonwoo hid his face in Mingyu's shoulder. "No need to get so excited," he mumbled

The talled let out a small laugh and smiled into Wonwoo's hair. The elder smelt like cinnamon. He w as really testing Mingyu's ability to hold back. He pulled away. "I'll see you again tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Wonwoo said, avoiding eye contact. God, why was he so cute?

They said their byes and Mingyu walked away, happy. He was humming a song he'd heard on the radio that morning. Today was a good day, he decided. Every day sith Wonwoo was a good day.

He walked up the walkway to his front door and took a deep breath. He knew what was on the other side.

Inside, Chairman Kim came from the living room. He watched as Mingyu shut the door behind him. "I dob't see the boy," he said.

"I told you he's not ready yet," Mingyu replied, trying his best mot to give the old man attitude. It'd been like this every day for the past two weeks.

"Am I late for the meeting?" he asked.

Chairman Kim shook his head. "No. Meeting's been canceled. Secretary Lee's wife went into labor. We can't do anything without him."

"Alright," Mingyu said. "I'm heading up to my room then."

"You're friend, Seungkwan, is up there. He showed up about 10 minutes ago, wanting to talk to you. He seems a little sensitive."

Mingyu left to his room. He didn't know why Seungkwan would be there. He hadn't gotten a text or anything from him.

Seungkwan was sitting on the edge of Mingyu's bed staring at the wall. He couldn't see his face. Mingyu closed the door gently then walked over to his best friend. Something was obviously wrong. Seungkwan would have said something by now.

Mingyu sat down next to him. "What's wrong?"

The red head turned. There was a steady stream of tears rolling down his face. "Oh, Kwannie," Mingyu said, immediately hugging his friend.

"We kissed yesterday," Seungkwan sobbed. Mingyu knew this. The red head had kept him and Jeonghan updated on all of his progress with Hansol. The three of them facetimed the night before which is when Seungkwan broke the news. That was 26 hours ago.

"He's not my soulmate," Seungkwan managed to get out before sobbing harder.

"I'm sorry," was the only thing Mingyu could think to say. With his arms around Seungkwan, he let his best friend cry.
