Me and Bakugo continued to get on as usual after that.
When I mean as 'usual', he was still a big bully, but that was his way of staying close to me.I'm so glad he didn't make it awkward. That would have sucked.
I stopped extra training with Aizawa daily, turning to once a week after a few weeks of the term had commenced.
Both Todoroki and Bakugo hung around me however, and there was tension.
I hated being at the epicentre of it all.I had spoken to Bakugo about my feelings towards him, but the conversation still hadn't arisen with me and Todoroki.
I had went back to his place during the holidays, but as soon as my parents had came back I went back to them. The time at his house was awkward, with Endeavour at my heels constantly, whether it be apologising or asking how I felt about Todoroki.
Why was it any of the old man's business, anyway? It was the day we were picking for our first term internships, as I flicked through many different offers.
My eyes landed on Endeavours.
Just what game was he playing at?I leaned back in my chair to speak to Todoroki, as his seat was behind mine.
"Does your dad train his interns physically or just by their quirk?" I asked.
"Please don't tell me you're serious about accepting his offer." Todoroki responded blankly.
"Well does he help with physical aspects of a hero or just their quirks?" I repeated again.Todoroki sighed.
"Not really, no."Bakugo turned to me.
"I'm going to Hawks' agency. He's relatively new but apparently the dude does combat training." He explained, as I glanced through my flyers.
"Hawks asked for me. Well, guess I'll accept his offer then."Todoroki looked at his, knowing he had to choose his fathers.
Hence leaving you with Bakugo.
You were loyal to Midoriya, though, surely. As the last bell of the day chimed, I was packing my things.
Todoroki walked over, helping me pack my papers into my file."Can we talk?" He asked, as I felt the colour drain from my face.
I think I knew what this was all about."Sure, of course we can." I said.
He glanced around, as Kirishima finally left the class, as he was usually the last person left."I wanted to.. confess." He said with a small sigh.
"I know you and Midoriya are a thing, but I'm aware you haven't seen him in ages and I'm worried when you go on your internship you'll hit it off with Bakugo- Ah fuck Y/N I like you."I couldn't look him in the eyes, as I shoved the last of my things in my bag, before I looked at him.
His eyes were full of desperation, as he tried to read my expression."Todoroki." I started, grabbing his hand.
"You are an amazing person. I love you, Todoroki, but you're my best friend. I don't see you how you see me, and I am so sorry. I love Midoriya. I understand your worries, but they're not needed. I've already had this chat before but, I'm so sorry. I don't like you how you want me to like you, and I wish I did."I saw something break behind Todoroki's mask, as he pushed my hand off.
"Right, of course. That's fine."He started to walk off, before he turned on his heel to face me.
"Just know that I will help you when need be. Yumi said she trusted me more than Midoriya, and personally I think her trust is well placed. But that's just my opinion." He shrugged, before turning and leaving.
Why the hell did he bring Yumi into this?
Right... Yumi.
Instead of turning left at the fork in the road, I took a right, heading to the hospital.
I wanted to see Yumi.Ever since her miscarriage, communication with her was.. practically severed.
I could only hear her voice in my head when I was nearby, and I imagined it was the same for her.
She was still comatose, but within that the 'heroes' had been using her body for experiments, to see how she ticks. It disgusts me, but I can't do anything but watch as they cut and chip away at her precious body.
Wandering through the halls, I finally found her room, entering with a quick tap at the keypad by the door.
"Yumi." I said breathily, a small smile on my face.
You're back. Finally. It's so lonely here.
"I know. I'm sorry. I got caught up in school."
I'm just messing with you. So, how's things with you and Midoriya?
"I actually haven't seen him since school started." I said with a sad sigh.
It was true. He was practically unreachable.
Every time I had called Inko, she told me he was busy out studying or with kids from his school.
So I was used to it.I was interested in the fact he had made new friends.
Did they know about his spotted past?If so, did they have any odd reasoning for being friends with him?
But thoughts aside, I payed attention to the paling corpse in front of me.
You know, Y/N, just because you and Midoriya seem fated doesn't mean you have to date him.
"I feel like I have to. Because I had such a big crush on him."
Had?
Had I really just said that?
"Have, sorry."
Y/N, listen to me. If you aren't happy with him, free yourself. You can stay friends, that is okay. But you had a crush on the sweet, young boy he once was. He's not the same person anymore.
"I hate to say it, but you're right."
I always am.
I could see her smirk in my head, as I stood up.
"I have something I need to go do. I'll be back and tell you all about it, okay?"
You better! I need to hear all the details!
So I rushed out of the room, out of the hospital, running straight towards Midoriya's school.
I had to tell him how I felt, and I had to know how he felt.
Was our rocky relationship all some flickers of a childhood fate that just wasn't meant to be anymore, after the harsh winds of time?
I suppose I would have to find out.
