Spirit is a beautiful dire wolf and an animal companion and mount of Zephyr. She has snow white fur and bright green eyes. She is first seen locked in a broken down wagon. At first, she growls and barks at Zephyr when he finds her. After seeing how frightened he was, Spirit relents and lies down. Zephyr becomes awestruck at the wolf and decides to save her.
Spirit is a goofy, fun-loving, wolf who is very loving and caring to everyone she meets. Despite her large size and gruesome species reputation, Spirit has proven to be a loyal, well behaved, and good natured pet. However, she becomes very "beast-like' when her friends are in danger, as seen murdering Kain while he's threatening the lives of her masters.
Spirit loves Zephyr dearly and will defend him with her life.
She also has a soft spot for the other Skyhawks including Cypher and Jocasta.
After seeing Kain attack Zephyr and Aasira, Spirit intervenes; ramming the former away. After a brief struggle, Spirit grabs the back of Kain's neck in her jaws and throws him at a rock, killing him.
Trivia:
Spirit's name refers to her ghostly white fur.
She is the second pure bred dire in the series. The first being Dahlia. However, Dahlia is able to speak while Spirit is not.
Spirit is the second animal character who purposefully killed someone. The first being Wildfire. However, this is debatable as Spirit is seen looking at Aasira and Zephyr with an expression of sorrow and regret, implying she just got carried away or the death was unintentional.
