Ivan Storm was the very first Storm Hawk and Ace's grandfather. Ivan is shown to have had dark auburn hair and mahogany eyes. He was also very tall and muscular. He shares strikingly similar facial features as his grandson, Ace.
Ivan was the father of Ida, Ace's mother. Not much is known about his early life other than he met Lyre, Ace's grandmother, and had a daughter with her. Ivan became the very first Storm Hawk and led his best friends on the team. Ivan eventually became the head of the Sky Knight Council for several years before leaving to take care of his family. According to Ace, Ivan died when he was only 5 years old due to a terminal illness, like his daughter Ida.
Ivan loved his family dearly and cared about them with his life.
Ivan only met Ace once before he died and he gave him his special chain mail shirt.
Shadow Stalk states her grandfather had worked with Ivan's Storm Hawks and was his second in command

Ace states he only met his grandfather once and was gifted his chain mail vest apart of his will.
Ivan's chain mail shirt is strikingly similar to the Frodo's mithril shirt from LOTR.
Ivan is stated to have past from a terminal illness like his daughter.
He is stated to be the first Storm Hawk.
