Petra is Aasira's pet amphithere and mount. She has gray skin, green underside and spines down her back and bright green eyes. Petra can fly and breathe green flames.
Petra is found and freed by Aasira who at first is frightened of the snake. However, Petra shows herself to be calm and benevolent. She cares for her master dearly as shown obstructing her view of Kain's lifeless body and nuzzling her after witnessing Spirit murder the creature. Petra can also be malevolent as shown ensnaring Scabulous when he threatens Aasira and squeezing him. During the final battle, Petra saves Aasira and Blaster by taking a poisoned arrow to the heart when Levia tries to shoot the two formers. Neptune rescues Petra from falling to her death but Petra still dies from the magical poison. However, Apello, Piper, and Aasira use their binding powers to revive her.
Petra adores her master and teammates (regarding most don't feel the same about her)
Aasira is Petra's master and loves her dearly.
Neptune and Petra are close friends and comrades.
Petra is shown to enjoy the company of the Skyhawks.
Trivia:
Petra's name is a reference to "Petrify".
Petra is the third pet of the Skyhawks to die and be revived.
Petra is the only winged serpent to appear.
Like most of the other pets, it's not known how or when Petra became trapped.
