Jay was Ace's twin brother and Kai's younger brother. He appeared to have a similar appearance to Ace but his eyes were dark blue and his hair was black and shorter than his brother's.

Jay was born to Sparrow Strike and Ida. He grew up on Terra Atmosia with his mother, father,  brothers Lightning Strike, Rocky, Kai and Ace, and sisters Addie and Parotia. He shows to be a good, kind, and caring boy as shown comforting Ace when their older brother is killed in a flood. As a teenager, he and Ace both shared a strong bond with each other. However, both were teased by Lightning and his buddies. Once, Jay accepts a dual with Strike. Strike accidentally shoots Jay in the chest, causing the latter to have a heart attack and fall from the fight. Ace comforts him but Jay dies in his brother's arms as a result of the shock. Afterwards, Strike took no responsibility for Jay's death. Thinking Lightning Strike had purposefully killed his brother, Ace was drowned in a thirst for vengeance and anger. In the vision, Mirage shows Kaida her father's childhood and the scene where Jay dies is shown, scaring Kaida. In "Cave of Dangers", Ace reveals what happened to Jay to Aasira who was horrified and disgusted at what her grandfather had done.

Jay was shown to have cared for Ace dearly; hugging him when Kai dies and defending him against Lightning.

He also showed love for his older brother, Kai; shown depressed when he dies.

Jay hated his brother Lightning, whom of which was the cause of his death.

Jay's relationship with his father isn't specified but it's highly likely he hated him.

He loved his mother dearly and helped take care of her.

It's shown Carver was good friends with Ace and Jay, even showing a sign of mourning upon hearing of his death.

Swan and Corvus knew Jay and were good friends of his up until his death.

Trivia:

Jay's name is a reference to the bird Blue Jay.

Affectionately, Jay's nickname was Blue Jay and he also rode a blue, white, and black skimmer.

It's possible Jay's death was the true reason Ace killed Lightning Strike, the latter being the cause of his death.

Jay bears a striking resemblance to Feather, Ace's son. Ace often mistakes Feather for Jay due to this.

Ace's Exosian son, Jason was named after Jay.
