The day Rick went to meet with the Govenor, he took Hershel and Daryl with him. I waited with anticipation for everyone to get back unscathed, as the others seemed to try and figure out a way to take out the Govenor during the meeting. I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed in them, when I seen Merle and Glenn trying to figure out a way to get rid of the Govenor. When Merle said something crude about Rick to Carl though, I did get angry.

Luckily, the three seemed to get back to the prison without any injuries. They didn't look to happy when they got back though, which was a little disappointing. I followed Rick inside, as he called for the group to conjure in the main area of the cell block.

"I sat down with the Govenor, and he wasn't talking about calling a truce. The Govenor wants to go to war, and we're going to be ready when he tries to attack us." Rick said, and I frowned.

I was angry, but there really wasn't anything I could do. If the Govenor wanted to go to war, we'd go to war. We had to protect our group one way or another, and I was willing to do anything for them, especially for my children.

Once the meeting was over, I walked outside and sat down against the wall. I didn't have any idea as to how we were going to defeat the Govenor, but if it meant living, I would try my best to defeat him. About thirty minutes later, I heard someone coming outside.

"I need to talk to you." Rick said, causing me to nod.

I followed him back into the prison, and he walked us to a room in the prison that no one else seemed to occupy.

"The Govenor told me that if I gave him Michonne, he would leave the prison alone." He said, causing me to frown.

"You didn't give her to him, did you?" I asked, making him sigh.

"I talked to Merle about it, since I knew Merle could do it, but once I left him, I realized it was a bad idea." He replied, and I sighed.

"You need to tell the others." I said, making him sigh and nod.

"You're right." He murmured, before leaving the room.

I followed Rick out of the room, and watched as he called for another group meeting. In the meeting, he told everyone about what the Govenor really said. Of course, he told everyone that we weren't giving Michonne over to the Govenor. Once we had agreed on that though, Rick, Daryl, and I went looking for Michonne and Merle.

"Last time I seen him, he was in here looking for a hit." Daryl said, causing me to frown.

"Does that mean he's been doing drugs ever since he got here?" I asked, and Daryl sighed.

"I don't know, but I doubt there was any type of drugs in here," Daryl replied,"I'm going to go look for him. I'll be back. You two keep the group from trying to follow." He added, and we nodded.

Daryl left, but it only seemed to be minutes later Michonne came back. Daryl had told us to let him go by himself though, so we decided to let him continue his journey alone, even though I didn't want him to be out there by himself.

"Do you know where he was headed?" I asked, but Michonne shook her head.

"No, he just said he knew where he'd find the Govenor." She replied, and I nodded.

I had a feeling Rick knew where that was, but I wasn't going to question him. I knew he felt bad enough, and I didn't want to make his guilt worse. The day seemed to pass by a bit slower as we waited for Daryl and Merle to get back. I felt myself begin to worry more as the sun began to go down and Daryl still hadn't arrived back.

"We have to go looking for him." I said, but Rick shook his head.

"No, he told us to leave him. If he isn't back by morning, we will go out searching for him." Rick replied, and I nodded reluctantly.

The night soon came, and I had put the kids to bed. Laying down to sleep, I wasn't too tired. I was more worried about what was to come in the morning. If Daryl wasn't back, I knew something awful could've happened to him. When my eyes started to close from exhaustion, I heard the door open for the cell block. I sat up slightly, and wondered who went outside, before I quickly realized it could've been Daryl and Merle. So, I quickly got out of bed and headed down to the door. As soon as I seen Daryl, I could tell something was wrong. When I didn't see Merle, I knew almost instantly what was wrong with him.

"Daryl, are you okay?" I whispered, pulling him into a hug.

"He's gone. The Govenor killed him." Daryl murmured, causing me to frown.

I hugged Daryl tighter, knowing he needed as much comfort as I could give him. He wasn't really a fan of hugging and such, so I knew there was something really wrong when he allowed me to hug him and try to comfort him.

"You should lay down and get some rest. I'll be in my cell if you need me." I said, and he nodded.

I walked him up to his spot, before heading off to my cell. Rick and I still shared a cell, whilst Harry had started becoming more and more use to sharing a cell with Carl. When I came into the cell, Rick picked his head up and looked at me. I crawled into bed and laid next to him, burying my face in his neck.

"Merle is gone. The Govenor killed him. Daryl's back, and he's distraught." I said, causing Rick to sigh.

Things were going to get a lot worse before they got better, and it seemed nobody was safe from what was to come...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. To be honest, I lost interest in the Walking Dead, but I'm not too disappointed with how well this story is turning out. Also, I will finish season 3 today, and write season 4 tomorrow.

Love you guys!
