EIGHTY SEVEN

Today's performance was just pathetic truth be told. I noticed that even the other members in my team had a negative attitude towards the songs that we were to perform. The other teams were really out there to be the best but for us, we were just so-so. I guess the vietnamese language is not our normal cup of coffee. You can just guess it, we became position last, as in 10 out of 10. When it was announced, we all just started laughing which made the other teams who were shocked with the results to look at us in awe. The judges had so much to say about our performance that we even had to go and meet them personally, especially our daily instructor who expressed his disappointment in us.

"You guys did not put any effort in this task did you? Because that was not the kind of performance a leading team like you can display. You are just taking your winning spree for granted." Judge Rain said angrily

" Even if you wanted to taste the feeling of being defeated, did it have to be that low, the last position, like seriously!." Judge Jennie said.

"We know that you are still on top but we are going to deduct marks from you so that you be bottom then you will value the hard work that you guys have been putting to your performance since the creation of your team. " Jin said after a long period of silence

"But...." I wanted to protect my team.

"There is no buts young lady, and you as the team leader (looking at Eujin) how could you allow this to happen?" Rain asked.

" I had deligated the work... " Eujin tried to explain

"Who said that if you deligate work, you stop being the leader?" Jennie asked again

"I am sorry for my negligence." Eujin said while kwonting

"And a stupid one at that. " Rain added

"Our decision is not cast on stone, leave us we deliberate on the proper punishment for the team." Jin said.

All this time, our instructor and the guest judge did not talk at all. They were just looking at us. Our instructor's face was full of disappointment much that I felt guilty whenever I looked at him. It was as if he was communicating the message of "I EXPECTED BETTER FROM YOU GUYS."

"Can I request something?" Tem said after a long silence

"You don't have the right to do so." Rain said again in anger

" Please senior, let them request, it may help us come with the proper punishment. " Jin intervened for us

"Just remember that it is a request so we can grant it or not." Jennie said

"Go ahead... " Jin said while smiling

"Well, if that is the case, thank you for your instructions. We will be awaiting you decision. Sorry again for disappointing you. We will go and reflect on our mistake." Cai said and then signalled us to bow

"What about the request?" Jin asked looking surprised

"It is ok, there is no change on the litmus paper, let us await your delibarations and then we will talk after that. Thank you again." Tem said and then smiled.

" Ok then, head to your studio and await our judgement. You are not allowed to leave the room without permission. That is the first punishment. Is that clear." At last our instructor said

"Yes, thank you." we said in unison, bowed and then walked back to our studio which was just downstairs from the judges' chamber.

As we passed our fellow competitors, some of them just looked at us with sympathy, others were laughing at us, especially the Red team who apparently were the best team in this task while others didn't even bother to look at us. They even went to the extent of moving aside to pave way for us to pass if we were some V.V.I.P.
