FIFTY ONE

Seriously the next day I was not in the mood to do anything. I guess this elimination thing has really gotten into me. Yesterday after telling Tem to remain behind, we agreed that we will be meeting anytime to practice our vocals. Among all the songs, only the Chinese one was problematic. We decided to to practice all the songs but at different times. Our first practice was today morning. We met at 4:00am and did a round of singing before the rest came.

Now we are in our usual class. The teacher is saying something but I can't understand him at all. I honestly have no idea what he is saying infront there. Grabbed noises ener my left ear and easily exit my right , like Peppa pig would say, adults always talk like blah blah blah blah blah... I understand that piglet now. I am not taking anything in honestly. No new knowledge is being acquired today really. Many things are on my mind but if you ask me, I can not pinpoint them out. Many times Cai has tried to bring me back to reality, poor guy but nothing. From the look of things, I guess what the teacher is teaching I'd very important because even the chitchat club that always sit behind us are all busy jotting down notes. Seriously, how long until I can get out of here? My eyes find their way to the wall clock that has always been there but it is only today that I have noticed it, funny ha! The minute hand seems to have aproblem because it is moving really slowly as if it will stop at any time now..damn

Minutes later the bell rang..  HALLELUJAH..

Finally my sleepiness goes away the second the bell rang.. looking around, I guess I was not the only one. People around are literally yawning and stretching their arms..

" Student Lensah, remain behind." I automatically turn around to look for the source of the voice and to my short, it is the tutor.. how did he know my name really and remain behind what for or did he notice that I was not paying attention to his class.. this day can not be more tragetic or... I bid good bye to the rest of my friends and ask Cai to save me some sausages, yes I live to eat, shoot me if you can and taking my books, I rush to the teacher's desk.

" Yes sir. You wanted to talk to me?"
" Student Lensah, I have noticed that you are kind of distracted. I know that normally you doze during the classes but today you were really off, what is happening?"
"Hahaha, sir, if you put it like that, you seem to suggest that I never pay attention to your lectures!"
" It's the truth anyway right.. so what is really bugging you?"
" Truthfully speaking, the six songs are really killing me. I love music but this is real torture and I have only one day to go... It is really draining me. I know it's not only me. If we knew what song we will be presenting, then..."
" You will be too lazy to give it your all. Believe in your ability and all will be well. Don't take it as if it is a punishment. We will be listening to you guys sing tonight so you have hours to prepare. Good luck and oh next time, I will really give you a punishment if you don't pay attention in my class ok?"
" Ok sir... Swadeeka!"
" Hahahaha, now that is just brutal, we speak in Korea the whole time and then you thank me in Thai..."
" Blame my parents for making me a multilingual lady but no harm done as long as you can understand sir. Have a good day" then I went away.

Walking out, I met Miki who was waiting for me. Apparently, the group leader had something to tell me but she was afraid of waiting for me and also was afraid that I will embarrass her like last time. At least I felt that that part was done. I followed her to our assigned practise room where ll the members were present. The meetni was about to share out the singing parts and I guess the lashing out and the accusing eyes made us the minority to get parts this time round. Miki was given the English parts while I got the high noted parts. I was glad with whatever I got. We were to practise the singing first so after the tea break we met to do the singing.

Cai brought me the food because I felt lazy to follow him. In the evening we had the said meeting of the elimination candidates and we sang all the songs together as a choir. The teacher and Rain told us what to work on and we were also told that the next day we would not go to the morning class because we will be singing all the songs so that they can know the songs that we had problems with.

I said the day was so-so but I guess we should never judge a book by it's cover. The singing practice was not that bad. I had gotten ready to sing the bad bad part but Rae was assign that part. Eugenie was given the English part after we discovered that Miki can really rap. I guess I have my work cut out for me if I want to dance this song with my group... Did I call them my group? I guess with the given a part in the song made me feel more as part of the group unlike the last week.

Before I went to sleep, I met with Tem so that we could go through the elimination songs again.
" P, are you sure that we will meet the cut on Wednesday?"
" I don't know really Ai Tem. I thought I told you not to call me P' again. You make me feel as if I am an elder and yet we were born on the same year."
" Sorry. By the way, did you hear that the judges this time round are not the usual ones."
" Yeah, I heard something like that. But whoever comes, I believe they will see the talent in us. "
" You know that my brothers said that you are the best partner I could get as long as we understand each other's strengths and weaknesses"
" Oh, that's sweet.. I should meet them and thank them for the vote of confidence"
" Hahaha, you wish, they will grill you to death those idiots. By the way, I was told to teach you the serenity prayer so that we pray it everytime."
" I know that prayer but not in English though. You know I am a catholic myself. I may not wear my rosary freely like you but I am true to my faith or else my mother will disown me"
" I know that feeling pretty well. I once told her like a joke that I wanted to convert into a Muslim...bad joke indeed!"
" What happened after that declaration?"
" Ask my brothers the day you meet them all I can say is that I am still a believer of the holy Roman Catholic Church..."
" Hahahahah... I can fill the gaps."
" Yeah. So tell me about your family... Are they still in Thailand or?"
" No, they moved to America. That's how I got the chance to come and live in South Korea. I guess the Kpop industry has really evolved since the BTS became internationally recognised. I wanted to try my luck especially seeing my fellow Thia people making it big here."
" Oh, the likes of Black Pink's Lisa, GOT7 Bambam and Ten of NCT... I guess they are your role model ha!"
" Yeah and not only me, most of the Thai people in this competition will tell you that they look up to the three more."
" Interesting! I guess someone will be happy that he is a role model"
" What did you just say?"
" Nothing important. Let us continue with the practice." With that, I stood up from where we were sitting and went to the piano to get the pitch for the hard Chinese song.
" Ai Lensah, how was your practise by the way... We were just sitted waiting for drama between Rae and you "
" I guess what they say I'd not wrong that men are more of gossip mongers than us women... Sorry to disappoint you but now this week. At last they recognised my ability to hit high notes. We are performing Bad by Infinite what about you guys?"
We got Boom by NCT Dream. I thought the list was out on Saturday."
" I guess I was focused on the elimination list more than the other one. Your song is not that hard to dance" then I started singing the song and dancing especially the chorus.
" If you put it that way, I will tell the guys to call you so that you help us with the weak dancers."
" If you pay me then I will gladly do it"
" Hahaha, we will see about it then. Let's practice."

That night, were not the only ones who slept late. The others joined us and we practiced together. The yellow team which had a Chinese helped us out with the song while we helped them with the Thai songs being that the girl was a Vietnamese.

The horrific day ended up well at least.
