"Attention attention all students, you are required to assemble at the football pitch" a loud speaker announcement disturbed the peaceful atmosphere during the lunch hour. We had just done out final run through of our performance and we were going for lunch before coming back to embark on the V-pop assignment.
" What now. They had to call the assembly at this hour when I am this hungry really!" Cai said as he sighed loudly.
" Tell me about it. For me, I was even planning to go back and take a siesta before our afternoon rehearsals." I said as I put my head on Korn's shoulder. He was literally drugging me.
" For me, I am just shocked that we even have a football pitch..." Eugene said as he looked around. Truth be told, I was also astonished that this compound had that much amenities.
" They even have a whole hall full of table tennis tables, an indoor basketball court and a lawn tennis field with a dozen courts. Like serious, where were you during the orientation day." Tem asked, looking at Eugene
" Oh, we went to all those places, damn, I think I am becoming old at this point. I don't remember the football pitch." Eugene said.
" Don't worry, you are not alone dear leader, I also know about basketball court that is out." I said and then rubbed his back.
" I wonder why we are going to assemble there of all the days." Cai said.
" I am not sure but I think it is a barbeque that the last week judges promised courtesy of your team." A boy came and told us.
" Oh, the bulgogi feast. Nice, I had even forgotten about it. It is nice of them to keep their promise like that." Eugene said.
" Wow, bulgogi! Nothing says that you are in South Korea like a Korean barbeque with soju." I said as I started walking alone. It was evidence that I love meat.
" Wow, meat makes you energetic like so..." Korn said.
" Hahaha, I think the soju part did the trick. Now the quagmire will be when there is no drinks, what will you do Lensah?"
" Then, I will complain that that is not an authentic Korean barbeque. Just an example." I said
" Soju makes the world go round. That is what tells you that you are in Korea, for heaven sake." Eugene said.
" Koreans with their soju!" Cai said which got a nod from Tem and Korn.

" Thank you for keeping time. We understand that you were heading for your lunch but we have decided that we treat you to the promised barbeque courtesy of the judges of last week and the grey team that challenged them so that is what we will be doing. We have placed the venue to be like a round table. There are different types of meat, sauces, side dishes and drinks. There are so much so eat to your full. Have fun. After that we will have a dance game and karaoke type of games. You can't say that you have had bulgogi without singing and dancing. Enjoy and that you grey team again for making this be possible." The emcee said and the other contestants clapped for us and also cheered for us, which made us bow to appreciate their applauses.
" Where will we sit.?" Tem asked as we were nearing the tables.
" Where there is chicken. That is the best place to be." I said as I moved where the chicken were kind of calling me.
" Your addiction to chicken is really deadly." Eugene said which made others start laughing.
" I plan to open my own chicken joint which will be supplying me with fries chicken one of this fine years." I said while sitting down.
" You are sick. Now, what do we have here?" Korn asked as he looked at me.
"I hope I can remember everything. Eugene be ready to remind me what I have forgotten ok." I said as I pointed the things, "ssamjang, Korean barbeque dipping sauce made from soya bean paste, doenjang, gochujang and chilli paste, spicy grilled pork known as dwaeji bulgogi, galbi - marinated short ribs, buldak - chicken, my favourite, doenjang jjigae - fermented beans paste stew, gamja-tang - pork and potato stew, ssam, very important- lettuces and perilla leaves, garnishes like Korean chillies, sliced garlic cloves, finely chopped scallions, and toasted sesame seeds. There were also some side dishes like banchan which is always a must, rice - I think, not only in Korea but also Thailand where Rice is a key component of a meal. Now the best part that crowned the whole buffet were the different beverages that were served... Beer, Soju, makgeolli and wine."
