TWENTY FOUR

"Hey Lensah, wait up!"
I was on my way to the venue when a voice called me. Looking behind it was Jin carrying a bag. He seemed kind of exhausted from the look he was giving me.

" Your heart gave me this to deliver it. She even demanded that I take a photo after delivery, just imagine. He said something like I give it to you or someone Cai Xukun."
"Thank you Jin. Yes, Cai is our son from China who happens to be a contestant in this competition also. " I said as I took the bag he was handing to me., " Oh speak of the devil, here , let me introduce you to our first born Jin."
" Hey mum I was looking for you. You are not even picking up the phone. Dad wants to talk to you about a delivery. Oh sorry, I didn't notice that you were talking to someone."
" It figures. I understand you when it comes to your dad's demands. Here is the deliveryman Jin and the package is already here."
" Sorry for the bad manners, uncle Jin. Pleased to meet you, I am Cai Xukun but they call me little Cai."
" Pleasure is all mine. I will be lying to say that I have had about you before today morning but I believe that we will be interacting more after today and also being that you are Jimin's son, I know it is not our last encounter."
" I hope so also. As long as I am still in Seoul, we will meet. Thank you for the delivery. I will inform my dad about it."
" No need for that, I just need a photo of you carrying the bag and that will be me finishing my mission"
" Ok then, mom come we do this . I think the event is about to start and you just understand your husband. Uncle Jin, am sorry that we will have to bother you with this."
"It's no big deal. Ok then 3, 2,1 (click). I will leave you now. Enjoy yourselves on the stage ok.... Fighting"
" Thank you uncle."
" Yes, thanks again Jin."

And with that he was gone. Looking inside the bag, there were two black t-shirts with our names branded on them on the sleeves. The catchy thing was the name LES PARK.... that was Infront then a G-clef on mine while a treble clef on Cai's. I guess Jimin felt that we should stand out.
" I guess we are sorted out," I said while handing Cai his t shirt.
" It's like he had our cry being that everyone is wearing a branded t shirt from their companies while we have nothing. Let's get ready then. I will go take my guitar and wear this."
" I will go and check when we are to perform after wearing mine also." And with that we separated again.

After sometime, we were all asked to assemble at the hall so that we hear the programme of the night. The emcee that they chose was very efficient. He took upon himself to greet us in all the nationalities present. Then he started giving instructions in Korean language and English. From all around the room, you could hear mummering here and there. I guess the ones who understood English were translating to their colleagues who didn't understand.

"Good evening all of you. I believe that you are well rested and ready for the activities of tonight. As you all were told earlier, everybody will be expected to perform either a dance or a song or both. We are not competing yet so I hope that you will relax and do your best. The best part is that you will be performing together with your fellow trainees from your talent academies or music schools ar even companies that you are presenting so just put your best feet forward. We will be starting at anytime soon. The solo performances will start off the night then the group acts and then we will be finishing with the duets. We would be rude if we don't recognize the sponsors of this competition, the STAR MAKERS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. I hope you remember what you are competing for, a contract with one of the biggest entertainment houses in Asia, 100000 dollars in cash and to appear in one of the best K-pop artists of your choice." At this point everybody started to clap .  Representatives from Star makers stood up and bowed to the audience and then waved to us.

" We can not forget to acknowledge the presence of our distinguished adjudicators , Jin of BTS, Taemin of ShinEE, Rain and Jennie of Blackpink." All of them stood up and waved to the audience which made us to clap even more. All of them are great K-pop artists and favourites to all of us.
" Now, without farther a do, we will like to request all the participants with solo performances to go and prepare themselves so that we get this gig started."
There were movements around the hall. I looked and noticed that Aggie was sitting next to her colleagues because they were wearing the same t-shirts. Cai removed his phone and was ready to record the performances. At this moment, I wanted to just close my eyes and enjoy the music. Being that we had already knew we were among the last to perform, I took out my ear plugs and laid my head on Cai's shoulder and closed my eyes.

Just when I was about to reach my slumber heaven, I felt Cai shaking me up.
" Hey mum, look., Uncle Tae is on stage with Eugene. They are performing MOVE."  That was like music to my ears. I thought it was a joke. Not long my phone vibrated and when I looked at my phone, I noticed that was  from our group's chat room.
Kai: hey sis, have you seen Tae? Am trying to look for him but he is not answering my messages.
Lensah: switch to facetime then I will point to where he is!
Jackson: hey, the function has not started yet?
Lensah: it has started Jackson. Tae is helping Jimin's look alike to open the stage. They are dancing to MOVE.
Jimin: Wow, I thought it was a joke. Please don't forget to record it.
Lensah: Cai is doing just that.
Bambam: I wish I was there. Make sure you record any group that will dance to GOT7 music
Felix: and Stray Kids'songs.
Jimin: and BTS also. I want to...just see how people internalise our music
Lensah: ok then. Cai will do that. I am about to go into sleep mode
Mark: typical Lensah indeed. Bored already?
Lensah: sssshhhhhh 🙈🙊🙉🤫👌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌
Jackson: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 classic indeed🤩🤩🤩

And with that I put off my phone and went back to my rest. I didn't see the need to watch Tae being that Cai was recording the dance.  By the time I found the best resting part, another person came to the stage. Ok, I didn't want to watch but there was something about his voice that attracted my curiosity. His voice was out of this world. He was singing the song STUPID IN LOVE by Jason Derulo. At this moment, I had removed my ear plugs and I was singing along. Tears rolling down my cheeks. There is something about this song that makes me tear up all the time. I was brought out of my world by an handkerchief on my face. It was Cai wiping away my tears. Then people started clapping .

" Wow, mum... I didn't expect you to be emotional like that. This I have to save it." And with that my little brat took a photo of me and posted on our chat room. I know that I will not hear the last of it so I decided to let him be and also ignore the annoying vibrations of my phone. Different groups came and performed. There was also a group from China that performed MAMA by EXO-M. it had been long since I had the mandarin version of any EXO song so I had to tell Cai to record it.  A group from Thailand sang the song 1 2 3 4 5 I LOVE YOU by The Bottom Blues. I was happy that they decided to go with the original version of the song. Not that I have any issue with Give Me 5 version. Hello I love 2moon the series and I loved the song from there but the original version has some magic in it.

At this moment, my sleep had disappeared and I was looking for any Thai group because apparently, they decided to be patriotic to their country and sing songs from Thailand. My happiness was short lived because after the  many group performances, we saw that the duets were entering the stage so it meant that we were suppose to go to the entrance and wait our turn. As we were walking out, another duo from Thailand came to perform THE LUCKIEST BOY by Boy Sompob. if it wasn't for Cai pulling my hands out of the hall, I think I could have had another outburst of emotions. This song is another favourite of mine from the series Until We Meet Again. Yes, am a fan of Bl dramas, shoot me if you can!
