Lorenzo's POV

"Oh god." I groaned looking at the new copy of newspaper. This is not what they asked me, this isn't even what I answered. What in the world are they saying!

"Woah, General. You look like you're about to explode. What happened?" Andrew walked through the door looking at me with a weird smile.

"You read the papers yet?" I looked at him.

"Of course I did. Do you really have a girl you want to court?" I glared at him. What does he think? When would I have the time for a relationship.

Though I always wanted to be a general I still have to admit that all the work is really tiring. You don't only have to lead battles, you also have to get a lot of other things done. Your soldiers look up to you, and you have to live up to their expectations if you want to keep your spot. And ever since the war started, the entire country is looking upon me to lead us to victory. Why won't they look at someone else? Why me? They all know that I'm still very young.

"I'm guessing that's a no." He looked at the copy in his hands. "Then why did you say that? I mean, a lot of things don't seem like what you would say. Lock your doors? That won't help will it?" I glared at him again. He's being really annoying today, maybe he should go and run another lap around our camp. Half a mile wouldn't be that hard for him right?

"To deal with my father." I spoke. It's true. "So he wouldn't try to set me up with some girls once I go back. And hopefully it works." Yeah, being the governor's son also means that you will get set up with a bunch of well off brats because of family ties. It's annoying.

"Yeah, that must suck." I glared at him again.

"You wouldn't mind leading the troops to another lap or two around camp will you?" I asked him with a smirk. His eyes widened in horror.

           "But sir, we just—"

"Make it three. Why did you come here?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh yes," He stood properly. "The governor called and wished for you to call him back at once. Should I tell him your busy or..."

"I'll call him." Looking at the telephone on my desk. "Is that all?"

"Do we really have to—" I pointed to the door. Meaning he should get out before I add another lap to that. He groaned loudly as he walked out. I heard him call all the soldiers as loud groans erupted. I scoffed. It was way harder than this at the academy, they think they could just slack off after one battle. We have to be prepared at all times in case there's another attack.

I picked up the telephone as I dialed the number. Why does it rotate so slowly, I hope we get better technology in the future. This is the best they can do for now, it's still pretty amazing though, how we don't have to always write letters anymore. It's an upgrade.

"Hello, can you call Governor Bastorio's office?" I asked the other line.

"Of course, please don't hang up." A lady spoke through the speaker.

And after a couple minutes I heard a male's voice come through the other line. "Hello, Antoine Bastorio speaking."

"Hi dad, you called for me?" I asked.

"Of course I did! Took you long enough to call back. It took you what? Twenty minutes? Anyways, what's this about the newspapers?" This old man needs to calm down.
