Roseanne's POV
"Lorenzo, stop walking so fast! I'm still wearing a dress you know." The man stopped in front of me with a grin before he walked back to me.
"Do you want me to carry you?" He asked and held my hand. "You said your legs were sore earlier." I felt my cheeks heat up. It is his fault after all, but I guess a little exercise could help me with the pain.
I shook my head. "When I said we should hike it means that I wanted to walk, not being carried around like some spoiled brats. Just don't walk as fast."
"Okay then." He held my hand as we continued walking. "Like this?" I nodded.
"Didn't you say there's a flower field somewhere near here?" I asked him while looking around, but all I could see were trees and things you would see in a forest.
"There is, but you'll have to be patient. This trail should lead us to it." I nodded, acknowledging what he said. Great.
"Is there anything interesting that maybe I could write about." I asked him, earning a chuckle. What, did I say something funny?
"Sweetheart, I haven't even gone back yet you are asking me for more information, where do you think I'll get these things from." He paused and pulled me closer. "And we're in public, anyone could be anyone listening on us or watching us without knowing, we should be careful about what we talk about, okay?" He whispered.
I felt the hairs in the body straighten, what did he just say? Anyone could be watching or listening to us and we might not know. I turned and stared at him with widened eyes.
He just chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, caressing it gently. "I'll be here to protect you if anything happens, don't worry." I could feel my cheeks heating up again. That's actually really sweet. But the thought still terrifies me.
And I'm pretty sure that 'anyone' includes people from the other country, our invaders. But we are so far from the battlefields, it's not very likely to happen, right? At least I hope it isn't.
"Let's think about positive things then." She spoke. "What do you think about kids, Roseanne?" I felt my cheeks heat up once again, is he saying he wants to have kids with me? I don't think there would be another reason for him to ask me about this right now.
"Huh?" I blurted out and turned to him.
He just shrugged. "I mean since we are married it is only natural that we start a family, and in order to do that, we have to have kids."
"But you're going back to fight soon, what if you can't come back?" I asked him. Though it sounds horrible and all but it must be said. I can't start a family with someone who is never home and might have a possibility of not returning. And as an addition, I'm only twenty, I'm still not ready to take care of a child yet.
"I'll come back, as long as we both have faith in it, then I'm sure I will." He locked eyes with mine, pouting out so many emotions that I can not describe. Then suddenly he said something that felt like lightning striking down on my system, it made my heart stop. "I think I'm in love you, Roseanne."
I blinked my eyes, stopping while staring at him. Did he really just confess to me, because that definitely sounded like a declaration of love. "Y-You are?" My cheeks burned. I'm blushing, once again.
He stopped and took both my hands. "I needed to say it, what if I might be needed to go back for an emergency tomorrow, though I'd hate for that to happen, it is a possibility. I had to tell you before it's too late."
